Doesn’t connect with Element 😕

I purchased a brand new Element 9 two months ago and the Raymarine App does not sync with the unit. We duplicated the issue at the showroom with the Engineer who then enquired and told me it requires an App update.

Two months later no update and still no connect - so I can’t do trip planning. I have three Axiom Pro 19’s on order for my new boat and a six figure electronics package. I hope Raymarine sort this out as it’s making me nervous regarding support. From New Zealand

Disappointing

Sadly after spending a small fortune on new Axiom mfd, I have learned how poorly this app functions on an iPad. Poor Wi-Fi connection from 4 feet away so low resolution display image of the plotter. Also the app does not allow rotation to facilitate inverted tablet use - it rotates the image in one direction only, so I am unable to fit my iPad in its waterproof case in the helm mount I have always used which only fits if the tablet is upside down. Raymarine devs please adhere to iOS application best practises and allow for rotation of the screen. I appreciate it does not work with the tablet in the vertical orientation, but should be allows to work in either of the horizontal rotations.

YIKES! BAD!

YIKES! Raymarine are we serious? I have been helping you as a beta tester since inception of Lighthouse. This app is beyond bad. App says can’t connect because iPhone not connected to Internet, but I can successfully use the internet to re install the app and search for solutions and post this review.

Horrible

I love my axiom units but the app crashes constantly.

Ne fonctionne pas

Cette application ne fonctionne pas.
La seule chose que j’obtiens c’est « mauvais mot de passe »
Impossible de rentrer quoi que ce soit, il n’y a pas de champs à editer ou remplir.
J’ai un Axiom 9+ , je me connecte au WIFi du Axiom sans problème. L’ancienne application Rayview fonctionne mais pas celle-ci.

Raymarine app

This latest release of the Raymarine app has totally broken the app.

There are so many problems with this app, I really think it needs a complete revision.

Main problems: no pull out side bar, horrible and totally redundant close bar at top of the screen, makes it too bright to use at night, just get rid of it. Poor use of screen real estate and poor graphics.

I was unable to get this app to do anything so was unable to check if Pinch to Zoom has been fixed.

I will continue to use RayRemote, its cleaner, faster, doesn’t need a log in.

Fantastic App to remotely control my boat

Let’s me keep tabs on my boat and gives me piece of mind. One less thing to worry about!

App won’t connect

No matter what I do, this app just won’t connect to my element 7s. I have the app installed on an iPad 9 and my iPhone 11. It’s just useless

READ before PURCHASING

If you are purchasing this device for alerts and peace of mind while not onboard your vessel, don’t. The app does not send notifications, you have to go into the app, into the alert menu, then you will only see the alerts. That to me is not an alert. It also links your mobile number to the alert to send SMS if there is a high priority alert. This function does not work and there is no way to set the priority of the alert. Furthermore the support for the extremely buggy app is nonexistent, I received a message saying due to the fact that a boat show was on, there would be delays in receiving support. There are many other issues with this ecosystem, Wi-Fi dropping out and being kicked off the network being one of them. Updating the firmware/software or app does not resolve the issue.

It seems like it would be so easy

Same experience as other reviewers. Connects to my Axiom 9 and mirrors on the display first try, but then complains about poor Wi-fi connection and says move closer even if I am sitting right behind the chartplotter and iPad shows strong Wi-fi connection. If it drops or iPad turns off, it will never connect again - just says “Reconnecting…”, complains about poor wi-fi and says connection lost.

I can tell from the other reviews that this is the common experience. Seriously, if this is the best you can do, then why bother releasing the app? I guess testing in the field is not something they do in Belgium. Piss poor showing, guys!
