  • Summaries a bit repetitive

I love the idea. Books tend to be wordy on topics of business and productivity, so I appreciate a brief summary with action steps to try.

I’ve listened to a few summaries and each starts with an intro and ends with a recap. This basically repeats the main portion of the summary, so it’s like listening to the same information 3 times. I’d rather prefer more content (maybe 5 or 10 takeaways instead of 3) versus hearing the same info multiple times in a five minute summary.

  • Brilliant

I just read 5 books in 15mins including Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time :). Brilliant concept, excellently executed.

  • Quick and not so dirty

Been neglecting your reading because nothing seemed too interesting. A hack or two a day will have you adding shelves to you library and interesting additions to your conversations.
  • Awesome app for those who love knowledge

    Really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the review, Williamson, it's fantastic to hear you're building that knowledge base 🙌
  • Not broad enough.

Love the idea of this. I was really excited, but there is nothing about God except for less than a handful of things. The religion & spirituality tab has anything but Christian it seems. No, this is not a slam against the app or anything against other beliefs to those who are reading. If there were more options and a broader selection, you would have my money.

  • I love absolutely love it!

Very awesome App! Great informational and intuitive tool to have at your disposal!
  • Frustrating

I found the app very frustrating. I liked the idea so I downloaded it. It constantly moves while you are trying to read. You have to hold the screen to pause and can’t remove your finger. One slight slip and you’re forward or back as a tap on the right or left is like a page turn. I couldn’t figure out how to permanently pause it so that I could talk to my wife. After losing my place five times on my first try, I decided to write this review!

Update: After the developers response I redownloaded this app and tried the text reader setting and it worked like I wanted it to. It was a bit tricky to find as I looked for it before starting a book. Afterwards I remembered seeing it before, but the title made me think that a robotic voice was going to start reading it to me. It makes sense now and I’m testing the app out further. I’m an Audible consumer and purchase lots of books. I also take full advantage of their return policy as they only offer a very limited sample of the book before purchasing and they have no rating system in place. I will not pay good money to listen to someone cursing in a book. I can get that at work for free!

Hi, bannedbum, I'm sorry for the frustration caused, perhaps you would prefer our read or audio mode? Have you given either of those a try? With our read mode, you can go at your own pace and with audio, you can slow the speech according to your own preference, you can also hit a pause button. Let me know what you think? You can email me at support@uptime.app or contact me via the in-app chat. Thanks
  • One of my favorite tool in my toolbox

“Simplicity. Brevity. Clarity. Humanity.” - William Zinsser advice in his book “On Writing Well” is what this app embodies.

Beautifully designed and fun to use.
