Need to update the camera settings in the app to actually work
Can rarely get the camera to focus correctly. Not user error. Can focus just fine until you get as close as required to get a picture. Wish there was a better way to chose which lens the camera was using to get the picture. That or allow for pictures to be taken at a greater distance and then cropped down and sized as needed. ** bumping this up to four stars. Tech support responded and advised to delete and reinstall app which fixed the issue.
App worked great last year but the recent update makes its best feature useless. The new update doesn’t focus on the strip. Even when strip is held far away and in focus the app will not read the strip. I’ve tried taking a manual image following the instructions and it will still not read the strip.Ntorignl
Nice App but fix the Auto capture function
Great Idea for an app to help you track pool quality. It tells you a guess at what chemical to put in the pool to bring it into stabilization. The camera strip function is basically useless. The camera will not focus at all and to align the test strip it IS SO SENSITIVE. What is the point of having an app if it’s not easy to use ?? I can already guess by eyeballing the test strip. Fix the camera macro function and make the aiming function a little easier to auto capture and you will have 5 stars.kb2qqm
Camera won’t focus
Bought this to help as I am color challenged. Have been using the digital version which seems to work great. On advice from spa tech, was told to try this as it is supposed to be more accurate. Set up the app, put the test strip n the water and the camera will not focus. Tried my wife’s camera and same problem. Went to my actual camera app and it took a very clear picture. Unfortunately, this app would not import that picture and the camera is still fuzzy.IDIVE4
Photo capture stopped working
Used it last year and it was fine but this year it does not work at all. No matter what I do the app refuses to read the strip. Then to do manually totally defeats the purpose of these expensive strips. Something must have changed in their server or app that now can’t read the strips at all. A total waste of money. Sad. It would not focus when trying to put the strip in the right place of the app photo space as it super blurry and no way to correctly focus. Total wastedicky62
Frustrated
Last summer we were having so much trouble with balancing our water. We bought AquaChek! They were amazing! Finally could get real readings! Fast forward to this summer! I pull out strip after strip because my camera won’t focus. I thought maybe it was my new phone. So we tried on many different age phone and will not work. So frustrated we have to buy a different kind. Hopefully they get it fixed.Dlcsac
App no longer reading test strips
I’ve used this product for a couple of years without issue. This year I opened my pool and tried about a dozen test strips and the app never recognized the test strip. I followed all the steps repeatedly and the box would only turn yellow or red. When I click the manual button, the app crashes and closes. I bought new strips and I have the same issue. The app no longer reads the test strips. This used to be a great app/product, now it’s just a waste of money.Mappy100
Useless
The app worked great last summer, but this year it will not scan the strip. The camera can’t focus and it refuses to read the testing strip. I have been watching for updates, hoping they would address this issue but haven’t seen anything. So needless to say, the app is useless. You have to use the manual chart that comes with your testing strips. Disappointing because I really appreciated the chemical instructions when it worked last year and being able to look back at trends for my pool.KG2926
Used to work
I downloaded the app last summer merely so I wouldn’t have to write down the readings. It worked fine last summer. Now, it won’t take a pic of the strip. Says I need to line it up with the black and white squares on the strip, but those aren’t there. My strips are good till Sept 2025 and have been in a cool dark place all winter.
I couldn’t remember the gallons, so when I tried to calculate that and hit save, it was giving me the prompt to enter them myself without giving me the result. If I remembered them, I wouldn’t need the calculator!!
Additionally, when I tried to manually enter, the app crashed. Looks like I’m going back old school.Cherelen
Camera not focusing
So last year the app worked really good and the camera focused just fine to take the pictures of the test strip. Well I just bought a new kit this last Saturday because I opened my pool and we’re trying to get all of the levels correct so we can start swimming. We went through 4-5 strips and did everything exactly the way the kit says and we could never get the camera to focus right for it to take the picture and get the levels of everything. We really liked this app because it reads the test strip and then gives us a breakdown of what we need to do. So I’m not really sure on what we need to do?Bob81681
