App doesn’t work
App says it’s connected but actually isn’t. Worked fine for a long time but recently decided that it has connection issues. Nothing about my internet changed and no recent update to the app. I deleted the smoker from the app and have set it up multiple times. It makes a connection and is accurate but then about a minut goes by and it stops responding.T-Bizzle81
Great APP
Not sure why all the hate. The app worked flawlessly. I think the key to disconnects is you need a wireless extender somewhere near the grill if possible. I have a WI-FI satellite in my kitchen by my deck, which is about 15 feet from the grill, Haven’t had a disconnect yet. Setup was easy and took just a minute. Love adjusting the grill from anywhere, even turning it on/off is great. I think a need for improvement would be a graphing system. I did love this on my BGE fan because I knew when to wrap a pork butt or brisket to get over the stall. Grilla, please add this at some point. Overall, great work.Chugot
Don’t waste your time or money!!
This grill and app has been a nightmare! I have had nothing but problems with both! Now, out of the blue they have disabled my account so I cannot control my grill with the app! This is illegal, I paid for Silverbac Alpha and now they disable my account! The app is unstable and customer service was awesome until now, it seems like they are gradually going downhill! I would not recommend this app or grill at this point.LockedUpAgain

This isn’t something that should even need a password…sitting here unable to monitor my cook…after a year it making me create an account and I’m now locked out…oh by the way it doesn’t provide alerts when timer or when it hits the markMB75070
Constantly have to login
Just received my grill today. I’ve been using the app maybe two hours and I’ve had to log back in like 4-5 times. Every time I set my phone down or do something else then return to the app to see what’s going on I have to re-enter my email and password. It’s getting kind of annoying.lgoldenrod
Could be better…
Once I got my WiFi situation straightened out (guest network on 2.4ghz only) the app works fine for basic control of the grill. I think a couple things could make this app better.
1. Graph both pit temp and probe temp.
2. Finer tuning on set point for probe. I can only set it in increments of 5 degrees.FCM1228
Notifications no longer working
App used to be useful, but with notifications no longer working, the app no longer alerts me when probe temp is reached, or when temps are out of range. I thought this was a problem on my end, as I had this issue a couple months ago. Uninstalled app and re setup the grill, and notifications still don’t work.A Turky sammich
Grilla Alpha app
First, this is the best pellet grill I have used and have owned 2 other brands. This pairs with my big block charcoal smoker and I use this when I can’t tend to the grill often.
The app on the other hand needs some work. No link to update the firmware on the grill itself. Links in the app such as HELP are broken.
No explanation of what the settings do. User Manual should be part of the app and not a broken link.
App doesn’t alert audibly most of the time.

Not connecting, again, after multiple calls and help from a tech.
I’ve called Grilla grill about the problem a few times. They told me it had to do with 2.4 not 5.0 connection. We have both. So I had a really savvy internet technician come out who set up the grill with a dedicated 2.4 specifically for the grill. This guy knows his stuff. He’s set up whole house, and does internet/computer tech work for a living. A booster is within approx 10 feet of the grill. It worked for a full day, yet here I am back to the same problem of it not connecting. The problem is definitely not my internet. I have no other problems with any other device in the house. I like the grill but the app is useless. So Now I go out every few minutes to check the temperature. Oh, the plug in thermometer which came with the grill is off by 20 degrees. I tested it against a thermapen and a regular meat thermometer.Clf05
