  • Season 1 and 2 ONLY

    Season 5 of Love Island the Game is possibly one of the worst games I’ve ever played. Let’s list everything they’ve done wrong so far;

First, unlike the other seasons and Love Island the TV show, you don’t start off with 10-11 characters. You start off with 7. That already is annoying enough. Then, you don’t get to know ANYTHING about our character other than she is Suresh’s ex, that’ll continue until the current episode. We can’t choose an occupation or anything. Next, your character isn’t allowed to dress herself or pick out her own clothes, the girls have to do it for you. If you don’t wear what they say, they basically bully you. About the bullying, it’ll continue throughout the whole game. Every single person that comes in will treat your MC like dog crap. The guys aren’t interested in you, other than Suresh (which he’ll still flirt and couple up with other girls) and Alfie (who will come up to you every episode to see if you’re interested in him). If you’re interested in girls, who cares? Not Fusebox. They’ll have it so Dana gets every girl who comes in. Every episode is about who can bully MC the hardest or how she’s Suresh’s ex. It’s exhausting and not worth the download. Plus, they’re trying to charge 50 gems for outfits and A LIPSTICK. C’mon now.

Replay season 2 and get a loyal boy, have an MC with a backbone, read interesting dialogue, and there’s ACTUAL character development!

  • Not as good as the original

If you’re considering downloading this app because you liked the original 3 season, I would recommend skipping and either replaying those seasons or looking for a different app.

Season 4 was decent. Albeit, the episodes were very short, the pacing was off, and the anatomy on the art was… questionable. But it was silly and fun, and still enjoyable to play.

But Season 5 is beyond a disaster. Your choices don’t impact the storyline, episodes are incredibly short and paced very strangely, gem options have sky rocketed and are not worth the price, and above all else the writing is both terrible and harmful. General, the new season has the character being emotionally abused, sexually harassed, and gaslit by a multitude of characters. No matter how many times you say “no” to NPCs, those no’s do not matter and the story forged ahead in the direction that the writers obviously prefer. Moreover, FuseBox has seen and heard the outpouring of criticism and has done nothing to improve the season.

To sum up: don’t both downloading Love Island 2. It’s not worth it.

  • Ex in the Villa is not it

Unfortunately the newest season is awful, and your choices have no impact on the season. The first 2 seasons were mint but it’s all gone downhill from there. Your ‘ex’ in the newest season is very predator- ish
  • one fundamental issue

I’ve been playing this game since the first season so I’ve had the pleasure of watching it evolve, watching the writing get better, the graphics get better. I’ve long preferred this game over games like Episode or Choices for one, albeit small, reason; there was no pressure to make premium choices. The other characters didn’t guilt you into spending money on time alone with them, or for picking a standard outfit, like they do in Episode. But that seems to have gone away this season and frankly I’ve found myself disappointed. It was the one thing that made this game stand out. It didn’t feel like a pay-to-win game but now…

Also just a cheeky heads up, I’m all for lesbian rights and I absolutely applaud the consistent diversity throughout the seasons, but it’s okay to show MLM relationships too!! Have two of the male islanders pair off, provide an option for the MC to be male or gender non-conforming! There’s an entire demographic you’re missing out on here lol

  • Consider returning to this app when effort is put back into it.

Following what is assumed to be a shift in writing staff, there are no longer branching storylines for the player to explore in the recent season. Character complexity and player choice has been replaced with linear storytelling and shallow, repetitive dialogue. The yes/no/maybe options given to the player have little to no bearing on the plot or character interactions. Fusebox has the capacity to produce worthwhile instalments in this franchise, as exhibited by the previous app, but it may be a while until they find their footing again.

  • Fuse box needs better writers who actually watch the show!

Do yourself a favor and download the original Love Island with seasons 1-3, because seasons 4 and 5 on this app is horrible! Your choices don’t matter at all! You barely get to flirt or be with a good LI until later on in the stories when there’s only 5 episodes left! Most of the time your mc is either playing the background or getting attacked left and right from other islanders, with mc having no backbone. Mc barely gets to graft, and that’s really what’s really the problem, because Love Island is all about grafting/flirting. The stories are not great and honestly at this point, fuse box should beg the old writers to come back! It’s obvious the new writers don’t watch the actual show and really messed up a good thing. The reviews are not lying, the game is really that bad. Also not spending 50 to 70 gems on those ugly furry outfits. That’s ridiculous! Fuse box needs better artist too! The outfits, hair, and clothes for seasons 4 and 5 don’t even compare to the looks and clothes you get from seasons 1 to 3. Hire the old team back!

  • Not Great

Ex in the villa episodes are so slow to release and no matter how many times you reject the ex he keeps coming back. It’s a boring story that feels like it tried to push you in one direction. Plus you have to do what the storyline wants, you can’t chose who to talk to like in Bombshell episodes. Which gives you limited options and also makes each episode very time consuming with a lot of dialogue that you can’t really respond to.

  • Poor writing and not worth the money

The older stories are worth it and I tried to give fusebox the benefit of the doubt after the last season which I didn’t finish because I got halfway through and felt like I was just wasting my gems. This current story is truly the worst though. You have an ex who cheated on you and keeps pursuing you not matter how many times you say no. Anyone you’re interested in isn’t that interested in you, gives mixed messages and hooks up with other islanders. It doesn’t matter who you like because you’ll get the same islander forced on you even though you’ve rejected them over and over again. It was honestly upsetting and actually made me anxious because anyone who’s been pursued by an ex or someone they’ve said no to over and over knows how terrifying it can be so the fact that writers have this ongoing for multiple episodes is tone deaf for a game that’s supposed to be fun and pleasant.

  • What happened?

This season (5) is a mess you meet the cheating ex you think he’s going to try for a while and give up no. He keeps trying and every other option is ruined example Eddie people express interest in him and he turns into a stalker, you like girls great you get Dana she’s not that cute but she likes your ex and flirts with everybody but you. Then your choices don’t matter kiss the ex trouble, don’t still trouble your love interest doesn’t listen to you and kisses someone else. A girl who everyone was excited for possibly being a li but instead is the girl your ex cheated on you with. The ex is constantly put in the front as an love interest and everyone else is pushed back he even couples up with another girl just to get you jealous and angry when she came in he suddenly looked attractive and I flirted back. I feel manipulated but amazing game if you wanna feel something.

  • Season 4 and 5

If you come from season 1-3 expecting the same quality your wrong. Season 4 was a mess and season 5 is the same. I gave 1 star cause atleast they gave us customization and I appreciate it. Unfortunately their is no choice at all … it’s a boring linear story where you can’t couple up with anyone beside the one the game decide for you . Your backstory is set in stone so you can’t really model your mc personality. Your choice have 0 impact on the game. If the game decides you kissed this person everybody will think you did even if you Didint. All characters are being push down your throat and the clothing even the other character now tell you to buy stuff… they raised the price for clothing and gems scene with no reason cause so far the wardrobe is hideous and the scene aren’t worth it at all.
