Dark mode arrived!
I’m a PRO member who used the web interface first and now the the app! I’m updating this review after dark mode was released yesterday. It looks very nice and I have upgraded my rating thanks to this feature. It would be worth another star if the app allowed more choice in which variations I could review. Unlike the web interface, there is no option to review all variations within a particular chapter - you have to review the whole book. As a result I still use the web interface except to check my stats. Please consider this in the next upgrade. Thanks Chessable team!Show lessEchoRun

The powers that be act Like they own you.
Too much censorship and Twitter-like powers used here. You can have an account but don’t rock the boat here they will terminate you. No wonder your stocks are falling. Just remember you can have an account but that’s all you can have because they own you and what you buy and when you get tossed for (TOS they never say why) they can get rid of you and they keep everything. Love Chessable. App needs tons of work.
The title says it all. Here’s just some of the drawbacks to the app:
1) You can’t watch videos in landscape mode. Try and they stop instantly. Chess vids are really tough to watch in portrait mode. Very annoying.
2) Course search is broken. You get far less results in the app than on the web.
3) You can’t see course reviews on the app!
4) When reviewing variations there is no option to go through outstanding reviews by variation like on the web. Instead, its all or nothing - random reviews of an entire course! So I have 800 (really) reviews or I can focus on a smaller number I need to address via the web.
I an sure there are more. I am a chess beginner and Chessable has been enormously helpful. I love the MoveTrainer and the content had uniformly been fantastic. I just wish the app were functional. As is I’d say stick to the web and save the install space on your device until significant improvements are made.Show lessCixelsyd23

Excellent concept, but buggy app
Chessable as a concept is simply great and there are plenty of amazing courses that I've spent countless hours studying and it has helped me improve my game a lot! Movetrainer is an excellent feature and overall it's great to be able to use an app to do everything you can do on their website.
However, the app is quite buggy, it is certainly slow when using movetrainer feature and it very frequently crashes. It's also pretty slow and unresponsive when trying to learn new lines in movetrainer (or maybe it's only when the course is quite "heavy" and has got quite many lines to study).
I am still using the app and I am happy it exists, just a lot of room for improvement.Show lessMichSfl
Video Does Not Work In Landscape
Would be a 5 star review, but there has been a bug for many months where videos will no longer play in landscape mode. (Instead, the app freezes and takes you back to the main screen.). Chessable said they were working on this, but it still hasn’t been fixed.avastmitty

Great app! Changing this to 5 stars since they added Landscape mode
I love Chessable and I got really excited to learn about their new app. But Landscape mode is an absolute necessity for a chess app, especially if it offers an iPad app. The screenshots show content in Landscape mode so perhaps we’ll see that soon?

Thank you for the feedback! We're working on this now. We have just launched Ipad rotation.good but needs to fix app breaking bug
currently if on IOS and wish to watch a video, going fullscreen will work for about 10 seconds before kicking you out and screwing with the layout of the screen, happens every time. since watching videos is a core feature of the chessable app i cannot give it a good review till this issue is fixedjoebog1
