  • No waste not taken into account

I just found it a bit frustrating that there is no indicator for carbon reduction on balk grocery VS all wrapped food. I go every week fill my masson jars with organic balk fair trade ingrédients, but it doesn't could if I would pay for new single use plastic things... Also, there is no distinction on the heating system of the house, I'm running 80% with heatpump supplied with hydro and 20% with local dead trees logs, and sounds like I would heat with resistive heaters.

Hi Oli_Cote. Thanks for sharing your feedback! We're working on a "Pro-Mode" for users that want to dive deeper as we speak. This mode will allow you to specify the heating type of your house.

    Absolutely love this app. So
Glad that I found it. Love understanding my carbon footprint and how I can offset and support.
  • it works

it is a perfect way for all of us to the least we van for our environment.
  • Easy. Beautiful. Fast!

No excuses for not becoming carbon neutral! It’s too easy with Klima 🌏
  • Amazing App!

First off, the interface is beautiful! It’s very intuitive and user-friendly. It calculates your average carbon output and lets you chose what area you’d like to contribute to offset your personal carbon output and become neutral!

It does cost an average between $13-20, depending on your average. You can lower the monthly contribution by doing goals in the app.

One thing I do really appreciate is the transparency of costs for the company. It tells you directly where all your money is going to. They have also highlighted their legitimacy by partnering with organizations created by the likes of WWF for strict high standards in their missions they choose.

I would highly recommend this app to individuals who’d like to decrease their personal carbon output (just for responsibility sake). It will take world corporations and governments to do drastic change, but there’s nothing wrong with doing everything you (as an individual) can do to help reduce it, even by a little. It ALL adds up!

  • Easy and effective

I came across this on my IG feed and was curious. After a little research independent from their own information it came across as legitimate and really does help offset what I use. I also like that it can help me keep in mind what my carbon footprint actually looks like, and gives easy actionable items to implement in my life.

  • Not actually helpful

I wanted an app to tell me ways in which I could reduce my individual carbon footprint, like make swaps. I live in the US where everyone’s carbon footprint is huge. I don’t want to just pay money to an African country that doesn’t need my help to feel fine about the amount of carbon I produce. I’m literally paying indulgences like a medieval catholic rich person. This is tone deaf!

Hi there, thanks for sharing your feedback. At this stage, Klima is primarily focused on offsetting, though we also provide tips to reduce your carbon footprint. We try to communicate that mission clearly throughout our App Store page, website, and onboarding. This is because even if you reduce your footprint as much as possible, no one can get to zero emissions through reduction alone. We do have plans to build out a more robust reduction feature in the future to ensure we’re helping shrink our users’ footprints and offset what can’t be reduced. As for location, our climate projects are located in Africa and South America because these regions are the hardest hit by climate change and they provide highly efficient and effective offsetting projects.
  • A quick and convenient way to start getting serious about climate action

Beautiful app that’s easy to use. Also good to see the team has done their homework and the projects used to offset emissions meet the gold standard set by WWF and other NGOs. Offsetting is by no means to the whole solution to the climate crisis but it’s a good place to start.
  • Finally something actionable!

Beautifully designed and exactly what the world needs! Thank you for making this!
  • Ecologi is better

I like the idea as someone a few years into my sustainability journey, but I think Ecologi is better (even though they don’t have an app yet) because they let you choose where you plant your trees, there’s different projects every month, and you can offset your pets and family members’ emissions. You can also add additional trees/C02 offsets mid-month and they have gift packages as well. Ecologi also has business plans (because while the consumers can help, at the end of the day 100 corporations are responsible for 70% of emissions.)

Not sponsored, just some thoughts for improvement. Ecologi is Uk based and doesn’t have an app, so for some people this might work better.
