Okay App

Has all the basics but every month or so, the map gets overplayed with another map, but at a 45° angle. So there are two of the same maps pasted on top of each other, one being on a slant. This causes the robot to be completely lost and it’s frustrating mapping out the house every month

Keeps Getting Worse

With the amazing app developers out there and the high cost of Robot Vacs, you’d think iHome could invest in a better developer than Silverpoint. This app is TERRIBLE. Constant connection issues, poor boundary control, and now, inability to complete setup altogether. I agree with other reviews that I’m ready to invest in a product NOT manufactured by iHome just to get an app that actually allows me to control the device as advertised. I wouldn’t purchase a product from this brand again based on this frustrating multi-year experience of wasted hours trying to configure what should be intuitive.

Sad let down.

The only reason why it even got 1 star was when it WOULD work it did great. I have a golden retriever and this vacuum helped minimize the hassle of hair all over. Granted the hair would get stuck in the design but I was willing to totally over look that when I could get it to work. My frustrations is that it doesn’t respond back and forth with the app. I have tried resetting it and I even got a new one. I am at a loss. I was hoping this would make make my job less frustrating since I moved up to the one that self dumps but boy was I wrong. :( It’s sadly going to to dump.

App has a lot of issues

First automated vacuum I owned.
Very impressed and happy with the luxury of have the house vacuumed while asleep. But I am very frustrated with the App. It has a huge lag and even freezes up, hard to understand the mapping of the house, and to some it up the app needs a lot of work. I am looking to upgrade already to have a hard floor cleaner but I’m thinking of spending a little more and a different brand that doesn’t have this issue.

Poor customer service

Obviously they are done replying to customers reviews and nothing is getting done about this horrible app. Boundaries still move around for no reason and I still can’t get more than one map to save. Not to mention it’s a very poor vacuum for hardwood floors. It blows around more than it picks up. Once it does the perimeter it starts on the inside of the floor but blows everything back to the base boards. If it did base boards like advertised it wouldn’t be an issue to have it do baseboards once it’s done but it does not have that option!! Will be taking back to try a different brand!!! Zero stars!!!!

Ridiculous app!!!

Please fix this ridiculous app, first of all everytime I set boundaries on the map they move all over the place by themselves so it’s about pointless to even try. I’ve spent hours on this junk app. Another thing, you’re supposed to be able to save up to 5 maps… well I have tried everything and can’t get it to save more than one map. I’ve got 30 more days left to return it if something don’t change. I’m glad I kept the box and receipt!!! I like the vacuum itself for the most part but the app might make me return it.

The robot I would give three stars.

The vacuum itself works okayish for me. Yes, there’s some issues with it getting stuck in places but for the most part I have no issues with the robot vacuum itself glitching or malfunctioning. It’s not the best at picking up, so it’s basically a glorified broom, but using it as a broom for a large mostly-hard wood floor apartment is great. I Have had stuff get stuck in it a lot too but it wasn’t that big of a deal to clean out of the suction duct if you have tweezers (i have the vacuum that empties itself into its stand).

The app I would give one star.

The app is absolute trash. It used to work for me but then I got signed out somehow and it never let me back in because it never finished loading after I clicked “log in” (I let it sit for hours before force closing the app and then retrying it). After I gave up on that, I reset the robot vacuum and made a new account and it never finished loading connecting to the robot through the WiFi-connect thing (that too I left for hours and continuously force-closed and reopened). Literally the worst app I’ve ever encountered on the App Store. At least other apps on the App Store let me log in or connect to a device before they glitched or lagged.

I’d rather go back to the my electric vacuum

I regret this gift more than anything I’ve received in a very long time. What a headache and continuous sucker of my time. This app /robot is incredibly difficult to use. Mapping your area and tweaking boundaries is difficult. You cannot leave this machine going without being nearby while in use. There is no simple edit feature to setup, and there is no precision in setting boundary areas and if a set boundary needs to be tweaked, you cannot do so. It loses mapping arbitrarily so you can start all over. (It honestly reminds me of the early days of computers where you lose your entire typed paper because there was no autosave.)The robot does not sense obstacles above it, so it gets stuck anywhere there is a cap from the floor to the base of a couch that is higher than the bumper, so a shaped table leg or piano feet or bases of rockers and couches, anything that it can get under it becomes completely stuck. So, in your frustration, you attempt to create boundaries and now it either is too small and you continue to have the problem or too large and now you have to get out your plug-in easy efficient vacuum that gets the job done in 1/2 the time because you cannot edit your boundaries. The ease of use is just not there, the programming is like 1988 and is not user friendly or intuitive to 2024 computer technology. This is NOT a pleasure.

Used to be “decent” now it’s garbage

Aside from the fact I can’t get a replacement battery and it dies at 50% battery life, these latest updates have been terrible. It loses the map constantly and has to start from scratch which is a problem since no matter how many times I delete the scheduled cleanings it just reappears with no way to edit times or rather when I edit times it goes back to the very first schedule I ever saved. And when it loses the map it still tries to start with the schedule but can’t find where it’s at. Please fix these simple issues with the technology at hand in 2023, these are issues I’d expect on a first gen technology 15 yrs ago.

The latest app release is the worst

Loved this vacuum and app until the most recent update a few months ago. Since the update, my device always shows as offline and I need to refresh it 6 times before it recognizes the device. The map used to show where the vacuum was (which room/area) as it was running, and now the map doesn’t update to show the progress. As others have mentioned, the areas/rooms feature is no longer working. Feels like a waste of time to have set it up in the first place. Is there a way I can revert to an older version of the app?? Please bring back some of those features that were working great.
