Going Downhill
The mobile checkout system at Fairway was once superb. During the pandemic, with social distancing concerns, it was a lifesaver. I urged all my friends to shope late at night and use this app to keep one's distance. But changes within the Fairway store in 2023 have made it an exercise in frustration, and Fairway is no longer my exclusive store. There are always items whose barcode the app can't find now. And most absurd of all, they've changed the software on the in-store scale one uses with the app. Unlike every other supermarket, you can't look up an item by name if you don't know its code. Instead there is a useless menu to choose items by category (fruit, vegetable, olives, etc.) 100% of the time I've attempted to use this I have failed to find the fruit or vegetable and have put it back on the shelf after waisting minutes repeatedl searching categories. Tragic. Fairway was once a pioneer and star of the mobile app shopping world. In 2023, with its useless in-store scale system and spotty code recognition it's just pathetic.

Cannot link insider account
I loved the mobile app but unfortunately my insider account won’t link up. Not sure how much use the app is anymore

We fixed an issue this morning that might have been blocking you, so it might be worth another try to connect your account (this can be done at home via the Settings page under "Manage Store Account"). If you're still getting blocked, please make sure you have a valid Insider account registered at fairwaymarket.com -- you may also need to finish the process of validating your email address before your account is fully activated. Perfectly designed app for shopping. Scan your items and put them in your bags, check out electronically and never wait in line for check out. Great support for the app, which has never failed.
Useful but sales are often wrong
Very useful for skipping the checkout lines but sometimes items won't scan or sale prices won't be applied
Works well but sales items don’t work
I use the app and it is really great but anything on sale doesn't register which is frustrating as then I am paying more for goods when using the app
Beware Store Pricing
For convenience, I’d give this a 5. But beware: if something is on sale in the store, chances are the app won’t give you the sale price. The Consumer Protection folks should be all over them for that. For accuracy, it rates a 1. My overall score is thus a 3.
