The premise, the humour and graphics are spot on but this game is just not for the casual player. I get the dice mechanics, got to the last Hydra battle. Admittedly by switching to “fun” + relying on damaging monsters by taking their usable dice and luck to even get that far. Lost over ten times. Played it for hours. Eventually decided it was my ship upgrades and restarted the whole thing. Now I’m doing even worse. How exactly do I get two ships 12-14 health 1-2 defence/attack past 15 health 5 defence worms that can take me out in two salvos/actions? (There’s literally nowhere else to ask this question bc zero walkthrough or forums past the tute)
So I reckon it’s a gamer’s game. Running stats in your head. Having the right build to match a play style.
Because if you aren’t you really need heftier upgrades or an extra boat by the regenerating and action blocking mermaids battle to enjoy it if you’re a normal person looking to pass the time and have a laugh.
And that’s like a third of the way through.
I REALLY wish I could still get my money back. I was too willing to buy just because of the total lack of new games post covid.
