Reliable Bitcoin Custodian

I consider myself to be very security and privacy-oriented, and River is perfect for the average retail investor. I’m very anti-Coinbase and giant centralized “crypto exchanges”, but River is completely different. River operates a clean, user-friendly, bitcoin-only, and secure exchange. The zero-fee recurring orders are great, and the customer support answers within 1 minute almost every time. Great app.

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

The River app is by far the highest quality app for buying Bitcoin and mining. The interface is easy to navigate and they offer zero fees on reoccurring buys. I also needed to speak to someone about my account and I have to say they have WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was able to speak to someone immediately that was friendly and knowledgeable without having to go through loops. This was a game changer for me and I feel very secure with investing with River.

I’ve used everything. Coinbase, Cash app, Strike, Swan. None of them come close to River. One of the most ethical companies in the business

Hands down my favorite bitcoin app

What I love about River: (1) its really easy and simple to buy bitcoin, (2) there are no distractions or noise from scammy altcoins like you would find on Coinbase, (3) there are absolutely no glitches or bugs when you use the app, (4) the transaction fees are reasonable, (5) dollar deposits are FDIC insured up to $250,000, and (6) you can pay ZERO transaction fees if you set up a recurring buy order.

Extremely disappointed

A few months ago I opened an account through the River app. I did it the day I found out I could in my state. After a few months, I received an email from River stating my account was closed. I never received any details regarding why my account was closed. Was it my bad credit history??? Was it a criminal offense from 20 years ago??? No details. I’m a hard working Union Laborer, completely legit family man. I have bank accounts and retirement accounts with legit financial institutions. So I’m still puzzled as to why this happened. I thought that River was a legit legal company who is focused on Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining and focused on the Bitcoin ethos. I guess I was wrong, I feel like all the podcasts I’ve heard the CEO on are full of crap with the things they speak about. It seems to me they are not a truly “Bitcoin ethos” company. It would of been great to be able to use one app for Bitcoin investing and mining. Hopefully this isn’t just another company building a new version of traditional banking.

Verification process take more than 72hrs

Why do you your verification to send and receive Bitcoin take more than 5days. This is so annoying. It been days and it hasn’t been verify still showing review this is really annoying. I have to keep calming my friend down since I am the one who introduced him to River

Hardware Wallet Accounts

River was the best Bitcoin platform on the market while they offered Hardware Wallet Accounts. Now there isn’t much reason to use them.

There also isn’t a way to delete your River account through the app which is in violation of App Store rules.

Great app for buying bitcoin

The interface is super clean and easy to navigate and the fees are very low for purchasing. Plus the price given tends to be VERY close to the actual market price and generally better than what you can find on Cash app or Strike. My only complaint is they don’t allow me to set the bitcoin mining fee on withdrawal of “on chain” Bitcoin. However they do have Lightning for receiving and sending which has almost zero fees. Definitely a solid option and one of the best I’ve used and I have tested quite a few. It also is available for Hawaii residence which is a plus!
