  • Next best thing to bring there.

Not living in the UK I can get to see world class theatre at home. Great shows and an incredible variety all at the highest level.
  • King Lear

Riveting - a very different and engaging interpretation of a great classic
  • What I would give to be able to watch these forever!

I am OBSESSED with National Theatre at Home. I would give up all my other streaming services if their catalogue was a bit bigger. My heart aches to see the dates when the plays I love will no longer be available for streaming, and I’d do anything to own them forever, but being able to watch them at all is such a gift. I cant recommend it enough.

  • App is broken

Was subscribed with auto renew and for some reason that stopped, now when I try to subscribe it just sits spinning on the getting you plan options page.
  • next best thing

The only thing better than NT at Home is being right there, in the building and all those theatre spaces, lobbies, bookstall, everything. Living in Toronto makes a daily or even a weekly drop-by impossible, but with NT at Home I really do feel connected - and a plus is the capacity to enjoy repeat viewings. Yes, it isn't the same as sitting in a hall with people all there for the same or similar reasons, and no, there is no buzz generated as the curtain time approaches, but it's far, far. better for me than having to surf various paltforms hoping to find even one programme to watch.

  • A Theatre Treasure Chest

If you are a serious theatre artist, goer, lover a subscription to National Theatre at Home is a must.
  • Must have!

After I finished my grad program I no longer had access to certain archives and databases of shows and performances. I realized that I’d come to really value having that access. I immediately subscribed to Nat Theatre at Home and have renewed since then. This is a must have in my life!!
  • Wonderful content - app could do with a slight improvement

NT at Home has, for me, the best live theatre subscription content out there. It has really impressed me. Before I took a look at the catalogue, I assumed there would be a paltry selection of their oldest, least popular productions — I was presumptuous in my assumption. The selection is plentiful with a mixture of old, new, popular, and obscure productions. I have rewatched productions I saw in the theatre; productions I wanted to see but didn’t get to; productions I probably never would’ve watched otherwise (usually to my pleasant surprise). I love this app dearly. The subscription is well-priced too, in my opinion.

Obviously nothing can compare to seeing a production in person, but this is a wonderful alternative. It offers flawless closed captions on everything I’ve watched too, which is essential for me. Only thing I really take issue with is that there’s is no way to pick up where you left off if you don’t finish watching a production in one sitting. And for me, the search bar is pretty inept at locating anything. (Don’t know if this is just my device?) It’s a bit of a nuisance having to manually browse through the entire catalogue to find the production you were watching, and then having to remember exactly where you left it at. There’s are my only grievances with an otherwise wonderful and exciting app.

  • Amazing access to brilliant productions

I am continually awestruck and inspired by the dazzling productions I am able to access from the other side of the world (Melbourne, Australia). Every production I have seen reminds me of the chasm between the status of theatre in the UK and in Australia. We have brilliant theatre here too (our recent productions of The Picture of Dorian Gray, Amadeus and Prima Facie were profound) but it is less accessible both financially and regionally, and it enjoys less investment and patronage. I am incredibly grateful to be able to share such excellent theatrical experiences with my theatrephile daughter and, occasionally, other friends and family. Angels in America, This is England, the British adaptation of Prima Facie, La Bella Savage, Mosquitoes, War Horse, Jane Eyre, Hedda Gabbler and so many other generously shared productions have made my investment not just worthwhile, but priceless!

  • National Theatre at Home

Just loving the performances direct to my home. The quality of recording is the best. You can explore old theatre favourites to new modern ones. This is what theatre is all about - great actors with an incredible support team of producers, back stage technicians, a live audience too. Best bit. If you need to stop watching you can pick up where you left off. Try the monthly subscription. You will not want to watch anything else
