  • Hype exceeds reality

    I have a moderate hearing disorder and got these with high hopes which were not fulfilled. Instructions lacking and ability to use volume function through app poor. Taping sides worked sometimes and sometimes not. I have hearing aids(“10”) and bose hearphones (“8”) and BeHear now (“7”). And Nuheara (“5”). As a so-called hearing aid I rate these as a 3 at best. More detailed instructions would help but can not recommend

  • Crashes

    App crashes when I try to update.
  • Really satisfied

    I have had $3,000+ and $2,100 hearing aids for a mild to moderate hearing loss. Returned them all as all they were, was amplification. Any control or changes meant more $$$ and another visit to the hearing doctor.

    My olive pro is far superior in that I can control all the features from my iPhone or iPad. Just amazing ‼️ And all for considerably
    less $.

    Phone calls and online YouTube streams right in and are not heard by anyone else. Don't use the music part yet, and I bet it works just as well.

  • Update crashed usage

    Support people not helpful. iPhone Dr with ios 14.7.1.

    Shows Olive (earbuds) and olive app. Connects to olive but not olive app.
  • Totally unacceptable sound quality

    I just have to wonder how this company went about testing this product and how they all thought at the end of their testing that this terrible sounding device, that people would be using in their ears for hours at a time, was acceptable. It’s not. It’s torture to wear them. The sound is so distorted that it’s a joke. There’s also a significant delay between the source of a sound, and when you hear it. It’s disconcerting when you speak and hear your voice echoed (and distorted). Music mode is a complete joke. HD music mode, lol!!!! Have you ever gotten those crappy headphones on an airplane they give out to watch the movie? If you can believe it, these olive headphones sound WORSE!! I’m flabbergasted that it cost me so much money I could have put toward hearing devices that actually worked. Olive, I’ll have to say this once more, how did you test these and think they are ok? Surely someone must have pointed out these obvious issues….

    1. Sound is distorted, not clean sounding on any of the “modes”. unusable.
    2. Sound is honky. The graphic equalizer does not have enough bands to address serious equalization issues.
    3. Modes are useless, they are just terrible eq presets.
    4. Noise reduction causes delay to sound, turning noise reduction off creates way too much noise to be usable.
    5. Music mode is a joke. Worst sound I’ve ever experienced in a headphone. Zero bass. My 20 dollar earbuds sound 1000x better.
    5. No wireless charging. Even my 20 dollar earbuds charge wirelessly.
  • A Sad Joke

    Hearing aids that have no real volume, a delay like watching an old Godzilla movie with voices out of sync with reality, and poor fit, among other issues. This was a scam, well-intended or not.

  • Still Not Working

    Also bought these with the Kickstarter campaign and have not been able to get app to work. Have reinstalled 4 times. Every time it tries to update it crashes. At one point no sound was not coming out of the right side during the hearing test. Somehow it was at 0 when the left was at 8. Really hoping they get the app fixed because I am an educator and really could use these.

  • These are… horrible

    Like everyone else at this point, I waited for months for the production and shipping challenges to be worked out, so was extra excited when they arrived. And that’s where the excitement ended.

    Maybe I received a bad pair, but the audio quality of my ear buds is circa 1998 Sony Walkman. Music input when the equalizer is neutral, so not adjusted at all, is bland and soft. Making adjustments to the equalizer, which I’ve adjusted for hours now, makes little to no difference to audio quality, it’s all below average, certainly below acceptable quality in today’s audio expectations. I realize everyone’s audio quality expectations are different, so sound is an opinion, but when comparing price points, these are far worse than Sony’s, Apple, etc. for comparative reasons.

    Regarding environmental sound enhancement, these are not at all what I expected; my experience is that everything sounds echoed and tinny, and not an audio enhancement I want to listen to as a hearing solution, which is the only reason I bought into this Indiegogo. While awesome music would be a bonus, I bought these to replace my hearing aid, which like so many of us, is overpriced and underperforming. Unfortunately, I can say the same thing for my pair of Olives.

    I waited for an update, which I just installed today, to give them time to make some fixes, but nothing has improved at all, so this is my honest feedback. My only caveat is that maybe I got a bad pair.

    I have spent hours in the app trying to find the miracle sweet spot, but so far none exist, the audio quality is just universally bad.

    SUMMARY:

    - The audio quality is way below average when compared to nearly any similar brand and model.

    - The environmental sound enhancement/hear-through is tinny with echoes, it’s far below expectations and there’s no way I will use these for daily audio enhancement.

    - The app is simplistic and the equalizer adjustments are questionable, with no adjustments that appear to resolve the poor audio quality. Hear-thru has three settings that either increase tin and echo, or cancel all external sounds, but nothing in between.

    - The built in hearing test is pretty neat and I’m glad it’s built-in; I question the outcome of it, but it felt as legitimate as any audio test I’ve been given.

    I am sincerely disappointed I wasted months waiting for these to finally arrive only to discover I’m still without a hearing enhancement solution I hoped these would resolve. These are horrible ear buds.
  • Earphone connection fine; app connection impossible

    I have had a chance now to wear these devices for extended periods of time and here is my OPINION solely based on Subjective impressions on my normal hearing ears. I have not tested them yet using REM.
    PROS: Comfortable fit, they have a hearing self-assessment function, fairly good sound quality for music, video, and calls, app driven (when it is accessible and functional), battery life consistent with reported, noted some noise suppression in Quiet setting.
    CONS: Significant connectivity issues (earphones kept un-connecting from IPhone and app kept un-connecting from earphones; connection of app and earphones rejected frequently; have not been able to get the app to connect since day one, even with deleting and re-installing the app), question validity of hearing test (very easy to guess or time tones; does not match my actual pure-tone audiogram, which is inconsistent with my experiences with other self-assessments), notice a fair amount of circuit/equivalent input noise compared to other earphones with the same functionality and in the same class, did not notice significant environmental noise suppression compared to competitors. Did not note a "Boost" in that setting.
