  • Love the train, hate this app

I never write reviews, ever. Not even when prompted by the app. My frustration with this app is so great that I proactively logged into the App Store, found this page, and wrote this. This is the least reliable piece of software I think I’ve ever used, and that includes the first generation iPhone software, as well as applications I personally developed in beginner computer science courses. I usually have trouble getting trip options to load, I’m not sure my ticket has ever loaded correctly on the first time, and the interface itself is very confusing. It’s awful. I honestly sometimes prefer to drive on the lawless, Mad Max-style speedway that is I-95 rather than take the wonderful, pristine, comfortable train JUST so that I could avoid using this app. I assume it was developed by a few teenage developers as a school project so that FECI could save money.
  • Don’t use app to book tickets

The app has been buggy to say the least since the relaunch here in Florida. First there was the time change, the app wasn’t up to date and would say the train you were going to take was in the past so you’d have to fish the e-mail out to get through security and board your train.

But you still can’t reliably book a ticket through the app for a single day round trip!! I just booked my passes for the following week, manually adjusting the dates from starting on a Monday, and I still ended up double booking a Monday departure that can’t be changed after the train has departed.

First, the app should be up to date so you can select the same day arrival and departure from the home selection area without it glitching. Second, you shouldn’t be able to double book a trip!

Love the trains, staff, and new commute, but the app leaves much to be desired. Save yourself the headache and book through the webpage.
  • Worst app ever, sorry Brightline

I love Brightline so it pains me to write this review. Nothing about the app works correctly. Your reservation might or might not show up on the app after booking. I booked a train which did not exist and now I have to wait an hour. App freezes a lot. Trying to be kind and polite to employees but honestly, y’all had 19 months during COVID and a one week test run to roll out an actual functioning app. TERRIBLE! Please do better bc I love using this train every week for work.
  • Day in Miami

Enjoyed a day trip to Miami with a food tour in Little Havana. Having transportation ready in Miami made the trip a joy. The only downside was the customer service representative on the return in Miami. We were tired and wanted to return on an earlier train. The customer service gentleman told me that I would have to go online, cancel, and rebook. I told him that my phone was just about to die and asked if he could do it from the terminal. Not a chance- he said that we would just have to wait for our original booking. I wish that I got his name because he was so unpleasant. We were rescued by a security person at the scanner when we tried to get into the lounge. When he saw that we were early, we explained that we wanted to get on an earlier train but needed to plug in the phone so that we had power to make the change. His response was “no need, we can take care of it for you.” We quickly got on to a 1/4 full departing train. Problem solved.
  • Train is awesome - App will cause it to go under

This app is so poorly designed that you have to believe they actually paid somebody to figure out how to make it more difficult than it had to be to use. The app itself actually would work really well, except it is obvious the developer has never even tried the app. It forgets everything you do every time you try to do anything, if you leave one page to the next you have to start over on anything you were doing at any time. The calendar function is terrible as it always gives you the wrong time for your calendar entries of when you’re train riders, it never remembers any of your information and you’ll be lucky if it actually selects the train the first time without you having to go through reenrollment 4 to 5 times. I have used the app 12 times in 24 hours to book 4 train trips. Terrible. I love the train but I know that it will probably go out of business if they’re dumb enough to keep using these app developers.
  • Very convenient!!

This is a really well done app! The user interface is beautiful and easy to use. It is incredibly accessible and we’ve been able
to use it to get around get around South Florida!
  • Best train ride ever

From the moment we arrived at the station, Ant went above and beyond to be as accommodating as humanly possible. He is pursuing his degree in Hospitality. It is obvious why! He was born to be hospitable and make people feel welcome. He guided our not-so-tech-savvy family through connecting to wifi, downloading the app, booking our trip, processing our payment with such eagerness that you could tell he enjoys his job. Thank you for making our day!
