The 1 star review is for the new app ui/ux
- sure it “looks” good but it works half as good as the previous app
I would much rather have the “old” previous app that was:
1. SIMPLE
2. EASY
3. Worked when I clicked and doesn’t have unnecessary categories like it’s an E-commerce store.

New app with issues
Download fails constantly, you never know when it might work! Especially bad in office situations!
Completely broken new app
On iOS 15 nothing will download therefore nothing will play therefore I am paying for nothing… I’m pretty sure Mr. Porter doesn’t know about this disaster.
Complete joke
the previous app was bad but at least usable. this new one is a complete joke and absolute unusable. Pathetically full of bugs. can’t believe this got out the door
Scary headset
The headset disconnects after about couple minutes the session is over and it makes a LOUD noise when the Bluetooth shuts off and it scares the daylights out of me. This is a really expensive headset which I invested in to help me relax and now I don’t use it cause it stresses me out knowing that after I am in a calm and sleepy state, I will we awakened with a loud noise that makes me jump awake - not good.

Lost history, broken search & no more power user
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE NEW APP: NOT THE PRODUCT. Each is separate as this platform is not for reviewing the product that uses the app: for the record, I love the BrainTap product and own more than one.
REVIEW OF THIS APP AND CHOICES BY THE DEVS: Change can be necessary, but when the company made the decision to lose all user history for its loyal users, that’s bad. We have to try to remember , then find the titles of all the sessions we used and start building all over again after years of use :(
A Search for someone you love to hear instead of Patrick will yield no results unless you get the magic combo right! Try searching “Asprey” in session or series and you get nothing. :(
However if you add his name into a tweet playlist, you get a result. That’s just poor database management and search function:
The entire area that was dedicated to power users is now gone.
No more seeing all of those great lists you can choose from. It feels like it was intentionally dumbed down for an audience that loves its science and this device.
My daughter and wife simply do not like Patrick’s voice, (I’m good with any voice and prefer Dual Voice) so now that I’ve lost all my history I gotta try and rebuild my list of stuff that doesn’t have him in it for them both.
I can forgive the site going down for a while, but someone has to know that this isn’t going to go great for the company to lose its users session history and should look to immediately help the dedicated user base.
And yes, I would be happy to speak to anyone about this review.

New update doesn’t work
New app and update dont work at all. Can’t stream or download. Can’t play anything. Completely useless.
Incompetence at its finest
Why in the world would they think it was acceptable to not carry over libraries Will take me several hours to get my library in some resemblance. I don’t like the knew layout it’s very redundant and not easily navigated. Despise that you can’t download bundles. I suspected that the library wouldn’t carry over but was given no warning maybe hey screenshot your library. The pictures next to sessions is tacky at best very redundant. I miss the power user overall a step backwards very unorganized. I don’t like the display of the knew downloads not being able to see the package instead of everything in the package.
The only thing that needed to be added was a better explanation for using session with goals in mind some are explained properly others aren’t or different uses for sessions

Ironic I got on today to meditate and hours later after being stressed out by the app was able to meditate
