Can only charge one car

We have just purchased this charger via Egg. We have two EVs (one full, one hybrid). After a lot of hassle with sign up trying to log into the app and having to reboot the charger, we have been told that only one account can be linked with the charger, and only one car can be associated with the charger. There is no option via the app to add two cars. This is completely insane and unacceptable. Thinking of changing the charger and we’ve only had it a week.

An improving app as of mid 2023

I’ve been using this app since around March 2023 and early on I experienced the issues highlighted by many others around d that time. Poor connectivity, lots of spontaneous offline charger drop outs and random errors.
However since around June 2023 the app does appear to have stabilised - very few offline incidents now and the solar functionality seems more robust and dependable, quite accurately engaging during peak solar periods.
I’m fairly content with this app for now and thank the developers for the progressive improvements. It’s recognised there are a lot of variables with regards different car models and interacting software.
Anyone new to this app I’d suggest stick with it and it does seem to settle into a workable solution once you get comfortable with the settings and limitations.

Avoid

I received two unsolicited emails and one letter inviting me to download and use the app. I recently installed it but then my trouble started. I was unable to charge my car at all. After days trying to remedy the problem, rebooting the charger, following steps on the FAQ's section of the website, none of which worked. I then simply deleted the app and my charger is working perfectly as it was before.

Not quite there.

The latest version is a leap forward but the app still needs some work. If you select Boost, the wheel thing rotates indicating car charging but when the car is ‘full’ the wheel thing continues to spin looking like it’s still charging. Also, still no real time data on charging. You have to wait a day at least for that info. I don’t think these basic functions are difficult so please update in the next version.

Poor, very poor

I set my account up from the web page as instructed when I got the charger installed, all works really well so then I downloaded the app……. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Choose login on the front screen and it directs you to set up new account, confirm my email, it asks me to confirm my car details again even though it’s on my account already, I choose my car and that’s where the app stops…. It thinks about going to the next stage of the setup but never gets any further.

Web version is limited but works, app is a waste of space on my phone screen.

Fab controllability

I have a VW ID.3 and have very few issues with the current app version. I really appreciate the ability to lock the charger via the app. A niggle I had with the old version was that if the vehicle didn’t complete the charge in the scheduled period, it would keep trickle charging. But the electricity price went from 7.5 to 35p/kWh, but this too has been resolved. If it hasn’t completed the charge in the scheduled period, it just picks up where it left off the following night.
Forget setting anything up within the vehicle, just plug it in and let the charger & the settings you’ve inputted in the app deal with the whole charging process.

Poor experience- look elsewhere

Potentially a pretty good product. Rubbish app (effectively you will purchase a dumb charger) , really poor customer support. I had an Indra smart Pro installed recently but could not sort out the app setup- the charger would not link to my app no matter what I did. After ringing the Indra helpline a number of times, every time hearing a different possible root cause (I can imagine it’s a small office and their customer team do not have the knowledge to resolve problems) I was getting a promise of someone ringing me back each time . Nobody ever bothered. I’m now potentially stuck with a charger that will work but is not smart as advertised and will mean a lot more EV running cost- note that the compliance with the ElectricVehicles (Smart Charge Points) regulations includes appropriate software/app integration. Therefore it’s a non-compliant product as such for now. Indra team, sort out your app and customer support- unless you’re happy to go out of business soon. OZEV and OPSS will be notified accordingly, as well as energy suppliers who still work with you.

Unusable

Love the smart pro. The web app worked fine but not as convenient as an installed app. Saw the new app as a massive step forward. How wrong. As other reviews it’s awful. It cannot be relied on. Web app says I charged to full yesterday but installed app says no charge since last week. Rubbish.
No boost trigger on installed app which was always useful if sat in bed when you’ve forgotten to charge.
Come in Indra. Great charger let down by the installed app. I’m sticking to the online version so please don’t get rid of that or you’ll lose customers very quickly

Compatibility Issues

I e been using this app and the Indra charger for near 1.5 years now. In principal the app & chargers are good, but there are real issues with its compatibility with a Tesla, in that you have to first, manually trigger a charge via the Indra app, then stop the charge via the Tesla app or direct from the car. Then, and only then, will the scheduled charge actually start the requested time.

Also, since the latest app refresh, the charger frequently states that it is “charger offline” which means the whole system needs resetting. Really not what you need after a long hard day at work.

I’m on the verge of moving to a more reliable brand of charger.

AWFULL

Always telling me my charger is offline. Ignores the schedule and charges anyway. Pause and stop buttons don’t work. Tried logging out and back in, then it tried to set me up as a new user again. Gives error messages when trying to set up tariffs. Indra told me to go back to the web app, on this you can start a charge but unless you want to charge to 100% you have to physically disconnect the car as the web app has no stop feature or ability to part charge. Very little actually works, would have been better off with a three pin plug socket fitted outside my house. Other than the above I can heartily recommend. Well it was nothing to do with my connection to the internet as the reply below stated, the engineer visit was a complete waste of everyone’s time . The app now ‘works’ - it would appear my charger had been de- registered from the Indra database. However last night the scheduled charge didn’t happen and when I got home it stated it was doing a scheduled charge at 4pm in the afternoon. The next actual schedule charge was 1.30 am. So work still to be done

5th April - Has packed up again. Offline again and no control over it via the app. Total farce. Have asked for it to be removed. Absolutely AWFULL product.
