Half a year’s experience
I had used this program for one of my major subjects for yr 12, I spent $30 AUD on this program and I can proudly say it wasn’t worth it. App is still very buggy and I have no clue if it has been updated since its release. I do not recommend this app, it bugs then lowers the quality of my animation when viewing it. Making it really difficult to animate, I couldn’t make a sketch animation in this app without wanting to throw my iPad at the wall. There is no selection tool, you can only move ALL the layers and not a seperate layer, the colour feature / previously used colours aren’t the exact colour that you would have previously used. You can’t import brushes or even merge layers, huge disappointment and someone who loves using Procreate, I cannot explain how upset I am at this app. I wasn’t even given a tutorial when I first opened the app which sucked.

I wanted this app to be good.
I used Procreate ever since I was a kid, it’s been my main drawing tool for years, and since I always wanted to get into animating, this seemed like the perfect tool for me. But now I’m wishing I went to a competitor.
It’s genuinely disappointing how this app doesn’t have basic features. I can survive without a lasso tool. But the fact this app doesn’t even have a well functioning rotate tool really shows how well thought it really is. I can’t and never have been able to properly animate anything using this app and it was truly a complete waste of money.

Missing a lot of basic procreate tools
I’m aware this isn’t made to be a drawing app however not even having a basic lasso tool, a way to make perfectly straight lines or perfect circles can make it frustrating, especially when I want to make slight changes to the drawing I know other animation apps don’t have this but this is a $30 (in my country) app, so I expect some form of at least basic tools, especially when this is targeted towards procreate users!! Another thing is when your adding any form of movement/ Action to your drawings, I think it would be nice to allow you to have it spread across all drawings in the track instead of being stuck in 1 drawing/ frame, it’ll allow for more smoother transitions and all Finally, setting up the background colour is so frustrating, I wanted to make it perfectly white but the colour wheel makes it impossible especially with no colour drop tool so everything is like an off white colour. Other then these frustrations, the app itself is definitely nice, having an easy way to have things slide, blur or scale without having to edit it frame by frame is extremely easy, it just takes a bit of getting used to the layout, the app itself can definitely be improved on and when it does I’ll give it a 5 stars!Show lessFelicity Ngo

Really needs lasso tool, also in flip book please add audio when flipping through frames, because that would be soooo much easier for lip syncing.lunamations77

So, this app is great, it has easy to learn tools, it’s not over whelming and it has smooth brushes and animation… but, I do have some problems.
WHERE THE HECK ARE SOME BASIC TOOLS!?
yeah so idk if it’s just me, but some tools that are very needed when it comes to my animation experience just arnt their, like, I don’t know if there isn’t a shape tool or not but I just cannot find it anywhere. Same with lasso/select tool. I can’t move around things that I need in a different space, which is kinda annoying, and it’s weird to have to redraw each part of one thing if there multiple that are different. Another one is symmetry/mirror tools. These are good for front facing running and stuff like that.
All in all, it’s a great app, but a little more of a beta feeling that anything. It has a lot and I mean ALOT of potential, but just a few more feature and it would be perfect.Show lessIzzie :D

Lost months worth of work
I was loving this app so much. I’ve been learning frame by frame animation recently and finally started on my first big project. Today though, I hit undo 4 or 5 times and everything is gone. All of it. Months worth of work. Redo doesn’t work. It’s all just gone. So disappointing especially because I was really liking everything else about the app and the procreate integration. I think it’s time to move to a older, more stable app unfortunately and I guess start again.Show lessEEEmmerich
Not awful, but could use some things to fix it up.
Ive had this app for not too long now, and its really not as bad as people say it is. Tho there are a few areas and features that can be added and fixed up to improve its score. First thing, is a lasso tool. It could really help with tweaking artwork and sketches and change around certain areas for movement and placements. Second, add symbols and vector brushes. I know this is more of a hand drawn type of animation software, but i think it could be better to use symbols for some repeated types of animation and could also be a cool way to add rigged animation characters and could make tweening and movements easier for some users. Third, make the interface more accessible and easier to find. Like for example, onion skins and maybe an effects tool like base Procreate. And maybe make it so you can use the transform tools on the canvas like in flipbook mode and dont make the entire canvas be covered up and only show the camera area when using transform. Fourth, make it so people can have a certain set of preferences and settings default for every projects, like their onion skins, bg colors, etc. and have it be able to default. I think it would be cool to have it more customizable and easier to make comfortable for people to use and tweak to their likings. But overall, this app has a lot of potential and i could see it becoming a possible industry standard app! Keep it up!Show lessOshawott🥝🐈🍙😺😽😸😻
