Mediocre at best

In 15 years of having an iPhone, this may be my first ever app review.

I get logged out of this app probably once or twice a week, and 50% of the time when I open the app it seemingly has no connection to their backend system as I am not able to arm or disarm the app which requires me to force quit the app, reopen it, then arm or disarm. They turned what should be a very simple phone interaction into an absolutely terrible experience.

If I could, I’d get my money back and go with another provider. I may not be able to do that… but I will feverishly advise people avoid ADT. This app is actually garbage, especially considering it’s for a paid service with next to no cost for ADT to support.

Unable to change my arming rules

I’ve been trying to change my arming rules and the “rules” tab is nowhere to be found in the app. I logged into the web portal and the tab shows up there but when I click it, it says I can only edit the rules on my phone in the app. I’ve tried it connected to the same router, on cellular, on a different router…. Nothing fixes it. I have it set to arand disarm through out the day but if I want to arm it for multiple days without disarming, I’m UNABLE TO CHANGE IT.

System and service

I am a travel nurse and 3 months or so ago,I received my new ADT security system. I was a little disappointed on what I was told the cost would or could be than what it actually turned out to be, actually hundreds more, but all in all my technician Donovan was very nice ,professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything in layman's term and gave suggestions. I am enjoying the new system.

Updated Review: new system

I do previously review this app while using the older Smart Home Hub that launched last year. I now have the new Smart Home Base - the ADT+ Smart Home Security system, officially.

This app is SOO much faster. I was originally impressed with how much better the ADT+ app was over Blue by ADT - but the new system must have better connectivity or connects to faster servers.

The app seems to refresh or go to sleep less. When I open it up most of the time it’s in the same place as before. The new system also has better integration with Google Home.

You can create an automation when a door opens - like the front door - it will talk. But this is PER sensor, and can’t be one automation for all the doors.

Overall, great app. Look forward to future updates!

Cumbersome

It takes far too much time to get logged into the app just to disarm your system so you can open the front door! I have deleted and reinstalled the app and I am still having difficulty logging into the app. It won’t keep me logged in, and sometimes it just sits there spinning. It hasn’t been able to load camera history for weeks, but I can go directly to the Google home app and see cameras and history so it’s not just my slow rural internet. Half the time the app makes me go to the website directly to log on, why bother with an app at them? This app needs and upgrade!!

Inconsistent

I’ve only been a customer for a few weeks and have experienced inconsistency within your app. I cannot see my saved media at all. The screen just has a loading like icon. As a person who got the ADT service due to a stalker, not being able to see the person who has been spotted is nerve wracking.

I’ve restarted my phone, disconnected and reconnected to WiFi, updated the app, put my phone in airplane mode and nothing seems to work.

I do like the ability to arm and disarm from my phone.

Speeches service from ADT!!!!

From day one I was treating with nothing but respect from Roger, then James my installer what and absolute gentleman and perfectionist he was. Then I forgot to get a shed sensor for the door so I ordered it one day and it said 3-5 days delivery next thing I know my doorbell camera alerted me of someone and it was the Fed-x driver I thought to myself I didn’t order anything. It was my shed door sensor in less then 24 hour’s it arrived. I am floored by ADT service they have gone above and beyond my expectations. Thank you all!!

ADT customer service is terrible

For some reason my ADT+ app doesn’t show the “rules” function like it used to and I spent hours on the phone with support to fix this. I called a total of 4 times, and EACH time they said someone would call me back within 24-48 hours and EACH time, no call. It’s probably a script they go through but never a follow up. The app is still not fixed for me and I’m tired of calling. I just switched to Simplisafe and right off the bat I can tell their products are better and the app is snappier. I was so glad to dump ADT’s stuff in the trash. You’ve been warned.

Where is the Support

I have had this app for 3 months now and it has been the most problematic app I’ve ever used. Settings change randomly and chatting or calling support is no help. For example, the device status for cellular and WiFi have been “offline” for the last week. Supports only resolve is to uninstall and reinstall the app and reset the base. This is not helpful as I am not confident that I can leave my home and have the app properly send activity alerts if there is a problem. Also, the hub shows as online but “sim pending activation” intermittently. It may be due to upgrading the phone. Please fix this so I can have confidence in using ADT services. Thanks in advance

Nest Customers - Take the Cash!

I regret not taking the cash, the representative lied about the products I would be receiving. I brought this up and they placed a second order on the product promised (which was a hub monitor), and the order was later canceled without notifying me. Later once I began to set my system up, I realized the app does not work and my account is glitched. I am not able to create an account nor login with the email utilized for the purchase of this equipment. It has been weeks and my security system has been down. ADT+ customer service is horrible, from dropped phone calls to low quality audio over the phone. If their representatives dont have quality connection to communicate with you a out THEIR issues - do you really think that YOUR home security is going have quality connection? (Let alone if you get it up and running at all).
