  • Faulty Upgrade

Normally when I upgrade an app the new version replaces the old version whilst importing or making available all my old projects to the new version. Not so with Affinity. Now I have two versions on my iPad sucking up space, and it isn’t clear how I get all of my old projects into the new version so I can delete the old version. I do not want two versions. It’s inefficient. If there isn’t a simple fix forthcoming I will be asking for a refund and just sticking to the old version.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience with the software. If you still need help with this, please email affinitysupport@serif.com
  • Needs polish

Right now there’s a bug that is preventing the app from connecting to my account. It simply won’t continue.

There’s another issue where linking two text frames causes the app to crash. This then causes the app to restart and require me to sign in (bringing me back to issue 1).

I love the idea of using my iPad as a book editor. These issues, however, are getting in the way of that.

  • Beautifully Powerful, A Must have!

It’s all about the tools. Apps are tools and my iPad, Mac are my hardware running those tools. I write, photo edit, design and there is nothing with the power to execute that on all devices and platforms for a few bucks. Affinity is the name. I haven’t used Adobe in years and saved a ton. They are very fair in their pricing and their software rocks big time! Thanks to the team over there, you deserve 5 stars!

  • happy to have this in ipad, but really need improvement

First of all, I bought the ver 1.0 and I love it, that’s why this time you guys have the 2.0 I immediately buy all of them.

I’ve been waiting for something that available for editing long text and poster and only need to pay for once. So affinity definitely do the job.

However, there’s still rooms to improve. First, it has bug. I was trying to fill the background w/ picture, and it didn’t pop up the window allow me to choose the bitmap like the designer or photo. This really need to fix, I do can use other app to finish this job, but as a app function, it should be working.

And then it’s the improvement part, sometimes I need to edit a really long text, like a book or something that more than one page. I expect that the app will at least directly create a new page in the same setting to show my outflow text.

And maybe just I still learning the app, but I would love to have first line indent function. Last time I try to do it, I only available to find indent the entire paragraph which is not what I need it. And I hate to do it manually specially if I am looking for editing for a book.

But overall, I’m so happy that affinity do listen and bring this software to the iPad. I do happy about it.

  • Best of 2023

Affinity is the new Adobe. Try it yourself and find out why. I already switched. It’s that good.
  • R2L

Still R2L (Hebrew, Arabic, Persian) is not supported 😑😑😑😑
  • Huge HUGE App. Amazing value

Publishing. Proper publishing is very complex. Affinity’s wonderful software is truly remarkable that such an elaborate and fiddly process has been translated to a touch interface.

The sheer volume of features available is astounding. The scope- enormous.

How people can be so snarky about something so enormous and fully featured, and for such a small amount of money is beyond me.

I’ve published using Pages before now, but I am determined to translate my working methods to Affinity so I can make alterations quicker and easier than I could before, lightening my workload considerably.

There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube so I have been brought up to speed fairly quickly, and I’ve already converted some Pages documents over to the new system with relative ease. Admittedly, there is work involved in this crossover which does take some time- not Affinity’s fault- it’s the nature of swapping systems, but not all the work is lost, and once you get a rhythm going, it’s doable.

So glad I now have this on my ipad. It’s made my life so much easier.

It’s nice, and great for publishing designs, but to use it you need to pay a monthly fee. Other then that, the editing factors are great!

    Developer Response

The software is bought for a one off payment. There is no monthly fee.
  • I’m sure it will be great eventually

But for now I wish I could bill Affinity for the hours I spent redoing client work when the most random actions somehow corrupts the file and causes the app to crash and crash and crash

Oh - really sorry to hear you've had so many issues. The update we released today (2.0.4) has a ton of fixes, and we have some bigger updates planned soon with lots of improvements and new features - and will be releasing they regularly. But yes really sorry if you have lost work - that is the worst possible situation!
