Very impressed for a brand-new release
Damus is not a Twitter-killer app. That’s thinking too small.
Damus and other similar Nostr clients are different from big tech. There is no “big tech” to post to when using Damus.
Posts go to the new social protocol called Nostr. Don’t like using Damus, you can easily switch to a different client and retain your posts etc.
It’s the elimination of the need for big tech companies that is break through.
It’s like a web browser but for social.
Given that Damus is brand new, it’s amazing what the developer has been able to accomplish. I expected it to not work. There are a few glitches here and there, but overall with massive adoption in the first couple days of going live, the service is able to handle it.
It is the Internet of Social.
