Thought it’d be better
I’d gotten so many ads for byte tag that I finally caved and got it since it seems like a cool idea. Then you get it and all the app is trying to do is make you pay a premium subscription for $4 a month just so someone else can access the account. It’s easy enough but I honestly expected a little more based on the marketing. It’s the exact same thing as buying a silicon dog tag with your pets name and a phone number. Nothing too special, but still pretty neat, up to you if you wanna spend this much to be constantly asked to be upcharged over a dogtag.

Byte tag slide not scanning
We decided to get the byte tag that slides on the collar. We were showing this to some friends and it would not scan. This has only been on for a few months so would expect it to work. It does look like it has faded which should not happen either. Thankfully we have found this out now and not when she might get lost

Byte Tag for the win!
I just received my FREE byte tag today! All I had to pay was shipping it was like $3 and some change. Set up was super easy. I feel so much comfort knowing my cat is protected a little more if she goes missing. As soon as someone scans her tag I get an alert with her location!! This may not work if you don’t have a friendly cat or dog because it will be hard for someone to scan their tag if they won’t come to them. Luckily my cat is pretty friendly to everyone so the chances of finding her has greatly increased if something goes wrong!! This is a great item to have for extra protection. The only thing better would be an actual tracker like an AirTag or something but this is super affordable and helpful!!

Byte is very cool and helpful!! I scanned it with a different phone just to try and immediately got an alert just for it being scanned! It then allowed me to see the exact GPS coordinates of where it was scanned! I do wish there was an option to have more than one person notified of a scan, without having to pay for a subscription, but I do like that you can list more than one phone number in the bio! Overall, Byte is wonderful and I will be ordering more for the rest of my fur babies!

I’m a human!
In a pinch I have used your tag and app in order to make my medical info more readily available if something unfortunate were to happen to me on my holiday to DisneyWorld. Please branch out. I love the rubber tag. It’s waterproof and will be added to my dog tags on my chain that I wear when on holiday. I’m not traveling with my husband, so my companions don’t know my complex medical needs or history. So, I’ll be wearing MY ByteTag! Easy to use, I have two more tags, one for each actual pet, Horse the dog, and Tuki the dog. I’ll be setting them up very soon.

Perfect
I got the rubber tag to go through my puppies collar because he chews on everything that hangs from his collar. I got an instant notification that his tag was scanned (I guess his groomers were curious what it was on his collar during his appointment). It’s durable and the writing doesn’t wear off! It’s a great light weight option too especially if you have a tiny dog and don’t want a metal tag to hang down from the collar. I love it and a great alternative to micro chipping.

Great idea
The tag is very helpful. Within a week of getting it our camper door didn’t shut and our dog came out to play without our knowledge. About 3 minutes after we had left the camper, I received a text saying that someone had scanned his collar. I impatiently waited for a phone call and I soon received it. The people had found our dog and keep him happy until we arrived. It was simple and effective. The tag does take some time to receive in the mail but when it comes it does what it’s supposed to do, provide detailed information about the pet and contact information of the owner.

Concept is nice, beware of hidden fees.
I purchased two bite tags for my two dogs a little over a month ago at the same time my neighbor purchased one for her dog.
We assumed you could set up a emergency contacts and setup alerts as shown on there marketing material. Although you can set up emergency contacts, only you will get notifications unless you pay an additional service fee. this includes even adding additional members of your own family or household.
The tool has a helpful walkthrough of how to setup your contact information, but the user interface could use some work. It will always give you a red alert and never let you go past 20% safety rating for all 3 of our dogs, maybe if you pay the additional service fee you can improve the rating. but we’ve filled out all the information except for adding additional paid contacts and still get a red safety rating of 20%.
In the case of our tags we got 3 different types,
Keep you posted on how they hold up. But so far they seem pretty good. Flexible, lightweight, and quiet.

Love it!
A few months ago, I got a puppy. I had lost a cat about a year before so I’m very paranoid about losing another animal. Byte tag gives me peace of mind knowing IF something were to happen and someone finds her they’ll have all of our information. The app includes all the information I would want and it’s easy to use. I’m subscribed but it definitely wasn’t needed as everyone who needs access to her byte tag alerts has it.
