I am going to return my Narwal Freo X due to this app
I bought Freo X from Costco , and I was so excited about it before I received it, but after using it for just a couple of hours, I’m very disappointed with the Narwal. Did the developers actually use their product? There are so many issues with both the robot itself and the app. Even my $200 Eufy robot vacuum performs better than this. Please try using your product in real-life scenarios—you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Exceptional
I'm not sure why this app gets such low reviews, I was actually questioning if I made the right choice or not but after having a month or so to play around with it I can confidently say this app is pretty awesome!
I had a EcoVac Debot that had an app that was just ok & I thought that I really didn't need much more than it provided but this app is on a whole other level.
There are so many choices to clean areas, add furniture / appliance icons to costumize the room, divide rooms, set per carpet or specific floor type settings, 3d maps and so much more.
It even has options to heat disinfect the dust bin (and it works, I turned it off for a few days and the room smelled a little musky, thrn I turned it back on and there's no smell at all. I think because of dog hair from 2 dogs)
Anyways I haven't had a single crash with the app and it does everything you could ever ask of a Robovac app so like I said I don't know what's up with the poor reviews or what people expect the app to do but this app is more capable than half the people who will use it.

Great little machine—App is user friendly but can use more features.
Great little helper
This a great little machine. It helps me with daily chores, and the app is user friendly. I love how the machine is able to climb over my thick hallway runner. I thought that would be an issue—although it doesn’t clean around the rug’s edges very well. I do think the app could use some tweaking and more features.
I would love to be able to task the machine with cleaning a small area. I have already split certain large rooms but it doesn’t allow me to split off smaller areas that constantly need cleaning. Also, I have a marble slab in front of my fireplace that the machine always gets stuck on and it doesn’t clean that area and edge well. I have tried adding a furniture icon to that spot in the app, but the icons are difficult to use because the mapped area is not clear. Also the machine doesn’t clean around area rugs and wall edges and furniture very well. Also the machine seems to fit under most furniture but the little vent on top prevents it from moving under sofas and chairs.
I will also add that for the future I would love to see the capability to self empty the dustbin because that fills quickly in homes with pets and requires manual emptying and cleaning very often. Also a baseboard automatic cleaning and washing tool would be amazing- I know there is a newer baseboard dusting version that I saw after I already purchased this version the capability to wash them would be amazing.

Can you build a mode close of end can you build a mode end of November? A mode that you can disable the robot vacuum if you have a sunroom and you have a Christmas tree in there, you have a Christmas tree and your house you can set a mode. you can disable the robot vacuum to go in those rooms that has a Christmas tree so it can identify a Christmas tree or you can disable it for certain holidays so let’s say you don’t wanna go in that room for that specific holiday, you can activate the robot to say no this room is blocked off for this date and this months because there’s a Christmas tree in there do not go by the Christmas tree at all. if you can build that feature, that would be great and wonderful. build a feature where the robot will be disabled and it won’t go in the sunroom or any other room that you don’t wanna go in.

Terrible network issues
I would recommend this product to anyone, nothing but issues with network
The app and bluetooth connection abysmal and map too small
We havre been using this machine since May. During this time this software has been poor considering the c and expected capability of the equipment. The problem has been with Bluetooth communication. At times the machine has connected but lately it has refused to connect to our phones. At this time the base unit is waiting to connect.. The Bluetooth on phone is seeing the unit at interval but when trying to connect is says “needs app to connect”. The phone says the” signal is too weak”. That obviously is the reason for inability to connect now.
One time I left the phone on top of the unit in pairing mode for one night. The next morning it was connected but soon lost connection. I then operated it manually, which at this time still does so without most of the functions.
My observation is the the radio signal is no longer functional since the phones see the machine at times and will not connect

App needs improvement
I love my robot. BUT the app used to control it is so deficient. It is so basic that it’s very difficult to make changes to the map or add a new one, which in my case is important. It needs an edit and delete feature for mapping. It needs functionality to create a schedule when to activate and which areas in the map to clean. I want to be able to access information (which is not included in the Freo X plus manual) on what kind of detergents I can use, how to maintain daily, weekly, and for storage. What this app does well: tell me when it has sucked up a small toy and needs help. Please update your app and you will have an amazing product!

Great and Awful
Robot is great in concept with great features, but app is currently pretty awful. We might have a bum unit, but our experience of this top of line robot is not good, from app not mapping our home correctly and not being able to edit map, to robot having hard time transitioning from hardwood floor to thin rugs. I do like the base station and look of it all, but its execution for us has not been better than our much cheaper robot.

Robot seems great
I struggled with getting the map to save initially, and come to find out all because 1 sticker was still on the back of the robot. Would recommend making it more obvious to remove sticker. The “remove this sticker” was in very small print mixed in with multiple languages and it appeared to not be blocking anything on the robot since it would map correctly.
