Good Game- but not the production cap
I love the concept and the style of this game, and playing through the first two cities was extremely fun. Once I got to the third city though, every building required a new hero to have workers put into it- even if I already owned a hero with the same job description. The way it’s set up to require specific heroes isn’t very efficient, and Mmmh production is slowed down to virtually nothing. I can only get a couple upgrades every ten or so minutes because of how slowly my one worker gets things done. Other than that, I vastly enjoy the side battles you can do on the map, and I like how the heroes do serve some purpose in adding a multiplier to my workers output. I appreciate the lack of excessive ads, and still watch some by choice. Overall, I’m a bit sad that I can’t make very much progress- I’ve been waiting for four hours checking in every few minutes only to have my production not even double in one resource, but I’m still going to keep playing, because I still enjoy it.

Predatory money trap
The game is nice until they introduce the concept of heroes. They time it so that the game play seems good enough. Even give you surveys in rewards for diamonds up until the fourth town (Ice lake).
But as the game progresses and the towns get more difficult to complete, it just becomes really seedy. The only way to make sure you have enough resources is to get “heroes” who do nothing but walk around and “boost production”.
Production for certain items become extremely limited without the use of heroes, and getting the heroes you need is a shot in the dark as it’s behind random prize boxes that shoot out whatever random item it chooses.
These so called “heroes” do nothing but hinder your progress through the game. Unless you’re willing to spend real money (which you shouldn’t be) the game loses its luster really quickly.
Dying citizens, outrageously priced chests, and the oh so convenient option to purchase the heroes you need just highlights how predatory this game becomes. On top of that weekly subscription options for a mobile game is a bit out there.
The game loses its attraction once you realize it’s impossible to beat unless you shell out real cash. Which I understand is fine for some people, but I’d rather just pick up a new game that doesn’t attempt to trap it’s consumers into paying way too much for what they get.

City 3 is the money wall
City 3 is where you have to break down and buy the heroes that will allow you to properly staff your production. Otherwise, you’ll just grind by logging in a couple times a day to collect resources for 1-2 upgrades. F2P time on app drops to about five minutes a day. If you’re cool with that then this game might work for you. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll keep playing to see if I can randomly draw a hero in a free crate that I know the devs want me to pay real money for.
Another frustrating part of the game is that the survivors you lure in are always exhausted and starving, and some of them stay that way even if you pump all your resources into the dorms and kitchens to max out recovery. You can only have them eat twice a day and sleep once a day. The end result is that your production is always working at a reduced rate (10% loss). That doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you can only have one worker per resource because you didn’t buy the heroes it can have a big effect.

Heroes only as a bonus
I like the game, there are only ads if you want to collect resources, but there is a couple major drawbacks.
First, heroes have a cap on who can work in a factory. I’m stuck on a level because the hero cannot be found unlike others that were unlocked when the building was unlocked. Either include the hero with the building or remove the cap so more workers can be used. What’s the point of having extra people in the city if they can’t be used.
Second, instead of having an extended shift, make a second shift. I know it’s about survival, but you can have an extended shift, but maybe allow for the selection of different survivors to be moved in and out. You cannot do this without unassigning all survivors and then reassigning. It’s painstaking and tedious.

Honestly a good game, until…
This game is good. It’s a great pass time and I enjoy the relaxing nature of it. I enjoyed unlocking the cities and building up my city. I also really enjoy the events.
However, there is a point in the game where you MUST unlock heroes in order to progress any further. I’m stuck on a city and I can’t gather enough resources without either using my diamond or spending real life money, which is overpriced and just not fun or worthwhile to do.
It seems as if the game is rigged so you have to use money, which is rather disappointing considering I genuinely enjoy this game.
Hoping the developers fix this, or just remove the hero system in general.

Fun Until You Need Heroes
Please make it easier to get heroes. I am at a standstill in Plain City because I am at my max number of upgrades without more workers, which I need heroes for. It’s very frustrating. I like the game, but I will be uninstalling due to not being able to advance without purchasing items in game.
Hero system is bricked to make you pay
The current hero system blocks progress early in the game. City 3 takes about 10x times to complete vs. cities 1 and 2. On City 4, things get worse as not only you’re missing 1 vital hero (that you wont be able to get unless you pay), but you have almost ALL heroes blocked by a paywall gimmick. The chest system is also to be reviewed as it always aims towards the lowest possible rewards.
I thought this game was made by honest developers who didn’t want to make a paywall based game, but I was wrong when I progressed ever so slightly.
Please review the hero system and rewards system as they do not allow proper progress in this game’s current version.

Biggest paywall yet
The game mechanics are so fun, and the variety presented is pretty expansive. Genuinely was my favorite mobile game of all time for a day or two until the p2w started. Prepare to watch your cities die because the heroes gate keeping resource production can only be gotten in sufficient quantity by forking over money for randomized loot crates. Oh and their in game currency is EXTREMELY overvalued. I laughed out loud when I saw how much they wanted for gems. Given the quality of the game if they did the whole mobile battle pass I might consider it but I’m not dropping 15 bucks just to get the cards and hero upgrade materials necessary for one city. Rebalance the game or I don’t see many people sticking around past the first two cities. The fun of the game is sucked out by what is obviously a money grab and it’s a huge letdown.

Fun but expect to be hindered
This is a really fun resource management game, at least, the first two levels are. I’m currently on the 3rd level and I’m having trouble progressing because of the ridiculous system to get heroes that open up worker slots. The system being luck? Paying real $$$ for characters? I don’t know what to call it. Safe to say that if I don’t manage to open random boxes with the two heroes that I’m missing, I’m ditching the app. I appreciate the requirement of the heroes and how their presence can improve production and effect gameplay (mini game is great) but if the system is going to require their presence, it should be possible to get them somehow! Perhaps using diamonds or watching ads, not what is currently in place that is so utterly frustrating.

Tries to do a lot, but no aspect stands out.
It’s a procedure based game, and you have to follow the script. No option for base design or to customize your base. The only resource you manage is warmth, and second food. The ad makes the game look interesting, but it’s largely false advertising. You have to get heroes which run a portion of RN factory. The heroes have almost 0 back story, kind of like the main game with little to no story line.
Their is automated combat, or you can choose to deploy buffs and debuffs, and heals manually. But all you do is fight uninteresting monsters. I’m at the third city, progress is super slow. The first city your breeze through in about an hour, and the second city takes about 3-5 days. And the third city 2 days and barely any progress.
It’s okay if you have time to kill.
