Lying customer service and fraud/fake customer agent
Tried calling the customer service written in the email to change the name or add a friend to the reservation so that we could verify the ID and check in. Took 30 minutes to transfer to various lines and meet an agent who said they’ll check on the hotel if that is possible, and the agent said that is unavailable. When I asked the hotel, it said those features are available but I should do them through Vio, so the agent lied and blamed the hotel.
Called the agent back, and the agent named Charles said that they’ll make a cancelation with full-refund on the reservation that we already made and will book another reservation with the friend’s name. So we waited and checked back on the hotel lobby if the original one was canceled and new reservation was made. Apparently, the original one was canceled but no new reservation was made. So we called Vio again to check on it, and another agent told me that they’re looking on it but they can’t process it at the time so we should call back tomorrow morning. We waited for 2 hours at the hotel lobby in the midnight for nothing and head back home in a 40 minute uber ride.
Called Vio back the another day, and apparently there was no agent named Charles that I talked to, and everything was a lie and false information. Wasted money and time and energy.

Not paying the hotel I had booked through them

Charged $500 more than I expected
I used them for the first time to reserve a hotel room in Buenos Aires. I was quoted a price in Argentine pesos but they charged me in US dollars, which ended up being 2x the price. There was some small text below a price breakdown, but there was no indication next to the total that they were going to charge in dollars. Their customer service wouldn’t help, not even allow me to cancel (I contacted them literally <30 mins after the transaction). At best they were very misleading. To me it feels like I was defrauded out of $500.
