Five star rating based on concept and potential
I am a 31 year old with ADHD and dyslexia. Reading was always one of my weaker areas in school. Eventually, I was able to overcome my difficulties with reading comprehension, however, I’ve always been a slow reader. I had to dedicate more time to schoolwork. This product is a game changer for me!!! I can read faster without taking awkward pauses. I wish I had something like this in the 90s/00s. School would have been a lot easier for me. The app isn’t perfect. I have a computer science degree and specialized in software development. So I understand how difficult it is to make something like this app work with a variety of applications. I’d love to be a member of a team making a product like Bionic Reading.Show lessmrm0523

Not only the app. The web tool is broken too. Tried to convert multiple epubs, while they show changed in a the preview, once you try to download and export the converted file, you will receive an error. Looked it up online and it seems this has been happening since, at least, mid 2022. Reached out to developer or twitter and he never replied.
Edit: it would help a lot, in the future, if there was an official acknowledgment of such issues on the webpage or the app page.

I have tried speed reading, I can’t do it! Or at least I couldn’t. I heard about bionic reading today on a podcast and tried it out. I have been blown away at how much faster I can read instantly. I don’t understand the low ratings given when the reviews say they also find it helpful. This is a developing technology and I hope you can get this input in a more convenient method like internet browser extensions or the accessibility feature on operating systems. I don't understand how to use this app and the website FAQ section has no information. It seems like a great concept but they need to make the app more user friendly. I can't even convert a PDF. I hope they fix this app soonGhostcardknight

Yes, it does make text easier to read but it’s big lack is that it doesn’t work on pdf documents or ebook formats which, for me, makes it a toy.AdamCyber

I have a difficult time focussing on any large text , to clarify I am neurodivergent , I can’t get an bionic epub version of books I like , it just links me back to the regular epubs , and the pdf versions squash the text on one side and have all these page numbers and details at the bottom that mean I can’t reasonably use Text to Speech whilst reading unless I want to hear basically an advertisement every minute , I wanted it to just take regular epubs and convert them to the nice readable writing but it doesn’t seem to do that .
TLDR , need it to properly convert epubs into bionic epubs , that would do wondersShow lessbrilliant user

I just recently discovered the wonder of bionic reading and this app has been clutch! There have been a couple of issues when I’ve tried to cross into the bionic reading app from another app, but so far the app has worked perfectly with Safari, Twitter (app), and Reddit (app).

This app would be fantastic… if it worked as it’s supposed to.
Pretty much every book I’ve tried to upload has run into processing errors, which makes this basically useless.matthew.ao

I’m confused. It worked for about an hour and then never worked again. No matter what I type into it, I get an error message.

This is life changing! However, the app needs a few improvements. First of all, you should be able to upload PDF documents. Second of all, when I do upload epub or rtf files, it sometimes reformats the text into a tiny column that is largely unusable. Also, sometimes the downloads or processing throws errors and takes several times of restarting the process to work.
Finally, for epub (and hopefully one day pdfs!), there needs to be some kind of automated process in the backend that standardizes formatting and focuses only on the main text.Show lessavrps50312
