  • Best pixel art app for iPad

I was gonna wait a while before reviewing, but I just discovered that you can get to the palette using the pencil pro squeeze. So awesome! Anyway, this app is great, get it. The only thing missing (I think) that I’d like is - when hovering with the pencil pro, I’d like to see the unadded pixel in the preview, so I can look before I add it. Maybe I just haven’t found how to turn that on.

Hi Reviews4daapps, Thank you so much for using and enjoying Pixquare. As for your request, that feature is actually already available in the app. You can go to Settings > Canvas > Drawing preview size threshold and adjust its value to determine when the preview will show. I hope this helps. Thanks
  • The absolute best pixel art app on ISO

The developer is truly amazing. I don’t understand why people complain about two files for the free app. If you like his app just pay for the full thing unlike other greedy companies he does not charge a subscription fee. It’s a one time fee.

Developer is truly amazing and the amount of updates and new features he adds is incredible. I wish more developers made software and respected the customer like this developer.

  • So Easy To Work!

I am officially obsessed with this app. Got it the other day, had previously been using ibispaints smallest canvas sizes to work. NEVER going back to that. This app is so well made, and so easy to use.

My only complaint would be having to go to the guide out-of-app to see what certain buttons do or how to do something. A good accessibility feature would be a tutorial mode, or having some non-grayscale buttons to see what they are more easily.

Overall though, a great app :) Thanks so much to the dev!

Hi Owens, Thank you for your positive feedback. The app do have a few tips and tutorial here and there, but I agree that it doesn't have an extensive in-app tutorial. I've added hover tooltips recently, I hope that can help. As for the UI, you can choose a more colorful or hi-res theme in Settings if you'd like. Other than that, if you have more questions/requests, please feel free to reach out to me vai Discord/email/twitter. Best
  • Perfect Trial Model

If you want to try your hand at pixel art, this is the perfect starting point. Intuitive controls, accessible learning curve and best of all, full functionality for the free model (only restricting number of projects) and NO microtransactions or nickel-and-diming. Plus when you want to move to the pc if has full compatibility with aseprite. Got nothing to lose by trying it!

  • great!

lovely app; paid version is v much worthwhile. I love setting themes (asequare theme users rise up 🙌) and it’s just such a solid, no-nonsense app. I’d love to be able to set the contiguity mode for the fill tool—Aseprite lets you set whether pixels have to be connected horizontally/vertically to count as contiguous, or whether they can just be diagonally adjacent, which I would love to be able to do here :) thanks for the app!

  • Really good tools and very easy to use, BUT.

I really like this app as I had to move to a new one, and my standards were immediately met when I tested it out.
Only problem I can really see here, and I may be wrong, but WHY IN GODS NAME do you need to pay money to make more than 2 pieces of artwork?? That seems very unreasonable to me, but again, I might be wrong. If i am, please correct me.

    Other than that, great app.

Hi Guuuhidk, The free trial is not meant for long-term use, it's only for users to try out the features of the app and decide if it's worth the price. Thank you for understanding.
  • ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGGGGG

i have tried lots of pixel art stuff but this is definitely the best BY FAR and i literally just downloaded it. all of the features in the free version are nice, and i LOVE how there’s no subscription and i can just buy it one time! i haven’t gotten the full version yet, but i’ll probably be getting it soon!! absolutely amazinggg also i love how there’s onion layer! more pixel animators need to have onion layers!! but yea everything is amazing! 10/10!! edit: after looking into the app some more, i have some suggestions (idk if these exist and i just can’t find them but yk) 1: a clipping mask option, 2: a way to slow an animation down.

edit 2: ohh tyty i just found how to do both of those with the link! i really like how you set up that website with the search bar! if that wasn’t there i would’ve prolly just given up tryna look for it 🙃

  • Pretty enjoyable, but…

I’ve been trying out a few pixel art tool because I recently got an iPad. I continue to gravitate towards this one no matter what. It’s ui is noninvasive and clear and each tool is straightforward… But there are a few issues I found myself running into. 1// Bucket tool: straightforward. Compared to other apps I’ve used say, aseprite for example, I can fill in a space regardless of what layer I’m on due to it being a given option for the tool. I don’t know if I’m looking over an option for it. Please point it out if I have. 2// Custom brush:UPDATE: I figured it out. It utilizes the selection tool. 3// Selection tool: This one’s just a nitpick. I’m used to selecting a spot with the rope tool, etc, and then just immediately moving it. Maybe an option for that? No sweat.

Hi DGOrion, Thank you for your valuable feedback. 1. If you're talking about using one layer as the sampling layer for another, it's planned and will be implemented soon. 2. Glad to see you figured it out :D 3. Roger that and I will add a toggle so that it will jump to move tool right after a selection is made. Best
