  • Cool at first till digging deeper

I was super stoked seeing all the positive reviews, but nothing states you only get 2 working files on the free version? Seriously? That’s insanely limited and this was not expressed till after going to start another file. Even with the paid option what’s the limits? Like can we only use so many colors as well in the free version too? This is stifling. At this point just set the entire app to 1 time purchase, not these silly multistage premiums.

Hi TWIGGYJ 28, I'm sorry that you're not satisfied with the 2-file limit of the free trial. The 2 files are for users to try all Pixquare's features before deciding if it's worth the price. Note that the free trial has access to all drawing features of Pixquare. As for the full access purchase, it is a one-time purchase and will unlock the file count limit. After that, nothing else is required and you will get new features without any additional charges. The only difference in the premium packages is the devices (iPhones, iPad, or all devices), it won't affect other features. Thank you

  • favorite pixel art app

This is my favorite pixel art app. Yes you can make pixel art with procreate, and yes other apps (currently) have a few more features, but I love the design of this app and the way it gets out of the way and lets you focus on your art. I recommend watching a tutorial on youtube to learn how to use all the features of this app, since it is a newer app and the documentation is still a work in progress. The developer is very responsive and is adding new features at a good pace. But as it is right now already it is my favorite pixel art app and I think soon it will be one of the most popular. Thanks for building an amazing app!

  • Finally…

I’ve tried just about every pixel art app on the app store as well as pixel art in Procreate and nothing really felt great for working seriously on pixel art. Additionally, features were severely lacking like animating, palettes, etc. There’s Aseprite obviously, but for mobile there just was a bit of a void until this came out. The animation feature is fantastic and very easy to use. I love the fact that i can just pull palettes from Lospec, saving me a ton of time, particularly when switching palettes often. Everything feels super intuitive and easy to use. Looking forward to see how development continues!

  • Pretty Good However:

If you’re not used to pixel art softwares or art softwares in general, you might not know what the symbols mean. Especially on mobile. I mean, even as a person who is experienced with pixel art software, some of the symbols confused me. I had no idea how to merge layers until by accident. So, I think it would be great to possibly have a quick guide for the basics. Other than that, it’s pretty good.

  • A nice little app

I’m really annoying using this app but I feel that a few key tools are missing. I’ve been using this app for a while and noticed you don’t have the ability to hide part of a clipping mask or add multiple clipping masks on top of each other. I also couldn’t figure out how to save manually. I turned off the auto save but couldn’t find the manual save button, this may be me being a spoon though. Overall I am enjoying the app.

Hi Krazoa, The clipping mask is on its first iteration and there are still room for improvement like you pointed out. I will try my best to enhance it soon. As for the save button, when auto-save option is off and you make some changes, a save button will show up at the top left corner.
  • Best pixel app for iPads out

And I’m serious. Without a doubt, this is one of the best out. I wish I knew how to watch Timelapses. It counts each day I use it which is crazy subliminal but … it works! I can’t keep my hands off this app! The themes are so cute and I hope to submit a few really soon! Inspires me to get better and better at pixeling each and every day, and it’s so helpful.

I will say, I wish there were a way to move files to and from folders, as well as a more comprehensive tutorial on how to use every single feature? Or maybe I’m missing something. Either way, I’m incredibly excited to see how this app progresses. This rules.

Hi Kitty Cosmos, I'm so sorry for the late reply. To watch the time lapse, you can proceed to export screen, then select "time lapse" (instead of png or gif), then you can export and watch the time lapse. I'm glad that you like the theme feature of the app :D You can manage the files of Pixquare in Files app, it's easier that way as Pixquare only provides some minimal functionality for file management. Currently there is no official tutorial, I'm working on it soon. Thank you for the review, Kitty Cosmos :)
