  • Amazing App

I have 1000s of hrs invested in creating pixel art, having learned in MS Paint and currently using Aseprite when on desktop.

I tried a few other apps as well but this is imo the absolute best you can get for creating pixel art on a tablet or mobile device.

  • Limited 🫤👎

This app is great for creating pixel art and it’s really user-friendly and adorable. However, the drawback is that you can only create two pixel art canvases, which I find frustrating. It's ridiculous that you have to pay for more canvases!

    Developer Response

Hi there, I'm sorry that you're frustrated with the 2-file limit. Those 2 files are supposed to be used to test out the app and see if it's worth the price. The free trial is not meant for long-term use. Best
  • Good app

I recently got an iPad for art and tried all the popular pixel art apps. This one was by far the best and easiest to use. The other apps I found difficult to import images or they would crash or be buggy. This one didn’t have any bugs as far as I could tell. The only thing is that the layer system is not as intuitive as it could be.

  • Why I don’t like it that much

The app is great with stunning features , great for art , game development or just to do something when you’re bored , but the most important features are paid (not free) and the prices of the subscription is too much , like who is paying that much for features that you can find loopholes for them ?

Hi there, The only thing that is locked in the free trial is the file count limit. The price of the app is a one-time purchase, so you only need to pay once and use the app forever. Best
  • Good overall

Love playing with this app, good for beginners and doesn't overwhelm you with a million features and brushes. If you like Aseprite on the PC you'll like Pixquare. My only issue is that there is no way to resize an image. You can resize the canvas which is essentially the crop tool, but no way to resize the image itself. I've tried looking it up to see if I missed anything but to no avail. Hoping this will be implemented in the future!

  • Only 2 artworks? Come on dude.

Everything in this app is great. Tools, GUI, all of that. But my main problem is the fact that you can only make 2 artworks, atleast make it 10 or 5.

Hi iarfan600, Thank you for the 5-star review. I really appreciate it. As for the file limit, I'm sorry that it's too few for you. Please note that in the trial, you have access to all tools and features, from basic to advanced, that Pixquare has to offer. The trial is only meant to try out Pixquare to decide if it's worth the price and not meant for long-term use. Best
  • Really usable

Because of videos that were out about this program it’s pretty easy to understand how to use. I’d recommend having like a full walk through thing (with an audio and text explanation along with visuals) on your YouTube account because everything that I actually fully understand was because of this like 20 minute walk through from another YouTuber. But still really good and I like how you are able to add in colours from that colour picker website, makes things a lot more simple and quick. I’m definitely gonna get the full version when there’s another discount code.

  • Wow

I absolutely love this app. The UI is clear and intuitive, the tools are easy to find and use. Masking, blend modes, lasso selection; everything you could ask for from an art app is right where you need it. And I love that the premium is a one time price and not a subscription like everything else seems to be these days. You can feel the time and effort put into this app and it truly makes it one of the best on the App Store.

  • Expressive Pixel Art on the Go

I’m trying to build a catalog of 16x16 sprites for an app I’m working on, and this has been the perfect companion to that. Every feature I could think of (animating with multiple frames, frame overlay, color palettes, color dropper, exporting) is lovingly accounted for.

Some really specific features are not intuitively accessible so you should read the documentation to understand all that this app can do.
