  • What a terrible app

I decided to skip the prescribed CGM because i don't need a medical device, just want to keep track of my glucose levels. This app doesn't even really do that, because of all of the constant, repetitive, inane number of tries it takes to even get my current level.

Instead it has some really weird idea that is this "holistic" app that wants you to have some *purpose* that's NOT MEDICAL, PLEASE AGREE THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE, but wants to give you advice, tell you want a carb is, have weird challenges, but definitely won't just let you monitor your bg levels - and won't tell you what a lingo score is, why it matters or acting rude that's going on.

I hate it so much i think I'd rather go back to libre's false low alarms at 3am and pay much less per sensor.

  • App not really friendly

I purchased the lingo and have used it for 10 days now. Went with Lingo over Stelo because they shipped to Alaska without HUGE shipping fees applied to Stelo (props to Abbott). However, the overpatch someone else showed in their kit was not in mine. The app doesn’t store data for more than a week (can’t look back and compare-the actual POINT of a biosensor defeated). I cannot export data to Apple health or my doctor (again, missing the point of wearing a biosensor). There is no Apple Watch integration. All Stelo strong points completely missing in Lingo. Will need to pay exhorbitant shipping on a Stelo, or record my data on paper for a look back. REALLY? Abbott can do better.

  • Ok at the basics

Three chief complaints: 1/ added items (exercise, food, etc) need to default to the current time; 2/ needs a widget so you don’t constant need to open app to check; 3/ timescale needs to be pinch and expand, not just three default time periods.
  • Valuable purchase

I applied the sensor in a few seconds, super easy following the instruction. My data was ready in one hour, so I started to see my glucose level related to my meals.
It’s useful to add meals and exercises to track which products cause glucose increase and the opposite. I’m trying to balance my nutrition, so this sensor helps me a lot!

  • Apple health export

I’d like the overall app’ design and some gamification effort, but also like to export raw data to Apple health, so I can compare with blood test.
  • Wait for more features

This is my first time using a CGM and I did it mostly as an experiment/to get a snapshot of how my body tolerates certain things.

I found the “Lingo points” confusing - the app doesn’t explain their points system in a meaningful way, it’s difficult to review previous data, there’s very little education. I’d like to see content about why folks might see spikes at night, what’s normal vs. what you might want to seek medical advice about, etc.

As a CGM which appears to be marketed to folks who are not typical CGM users, this app is severely lacking and not worthwhile as it is. Once things like Apple Watch integration and more meaningful data & education come along, I’d give it another try.

  • Great product, subpar app

The continuous glucose monitor is fantastic, has made a huge impact on my health and fitness by helping me optimize my diet. The app however has a lot of room for improvement. Massive battery drain issues even with the newest version, the logging feature assigns a random time of day for the entry instead of the actual current time, and lack of a widget or Apple Watch app make this half baked so far. Hoping for continued updates and bug fixes.

  • Needs work!

It was easy to set up but I can’t believe it doesn’t sync your glucose level to Apple Health. This needs to be at the top of your roadmap for the app.
  • Pretty to look at, but lacking obvious connectivity

I’ve tried both the Dexcom Stelo and the Abbott Lingo. The app for the Lingo is very nice to look at, but that’s basically where the nice things stop. There is no Apple Watch integration. So you can’t check your glucose by looking at your watch (The Stelo app has watch integration). I thought maybe I would be able to make a widget so I could view reading on my Lock Screen, but no (Haven’t tried to make a widget with the Stelo app because I was able to use my watch). The Lingo app does not have a widget. The app also does not write your blood glucose reading to Apple Health (The Stelo app writes your glucose reading to Apple Health). So you have to open the app anytime you want to check your glucose. Overall, it’s a disappointing user experience. I’ll finish out my 30 days with the Lingo, but until there is watch integration and Apple Health writing capabilities, I will go back to the Stelo for the foreseeable future.

  • It’s ok

I don’t like that it does not display your actual glucose number. Without seeing the numbers, what is the point? How can I even track where my sugar is at and notice patterns? But I guess one would have to have a prescription to actually see numbers on a continuous glucose monitor, right?
