  • Bought this a while ago...

... to use on my iPod Touch. When you guys updated it to work on my iPad, I was estatic. Works great at displaying my comics.

    I only have two wishes:

    1. Can you please put in support for iTunes built-in file manager? Y'know, the one that lets me add through iTunes, rather than using FTP.

    2. Please, please, PLEASE add support for cbr format! I've had to unrar and then zip files to get them to work, which takes time I could spend on reading.

Other than that, this app does exactly as I need it to, and organizes easily.

  • Good, but

This app is an only cartoon viewer on US AppStore. It provides good features but some problems make me give a high point to this app.

1st, bookmark function is not working on this version (it only works at fast switching mode. When I close the app, then bookmarks are deleted)

2nd, file management is not good. I cannot delete file from this app. It only possible on connected desktop.

  • Please support USB transfer for app through itunes

Great app!! I especially love the right to left flow for Japanese comics. One request is support for USB file transfer from iTunes instead of the cumbersome FTP which is the only option available.
  • After update..it is worse than before

One thing make me irritating is all images are floating. I don't know why you do that but I think the older type is much better.
Please fix it until next update.
  • Simple to setup and a perfect solution to the image resolution problem.

Ignore the one star reviews here from people who can't get their files on the iPod. The application is brilliant. I had 300 chapters of One Piece on it in 10 minutes and I can't wait to dig into them during my morning commute.

Simply put this app fixes one of the biggest problems with the iPod Touch. The photo optimization. For those who don't understand, iTunes by default shrinks down your images to the resolution of the screen. Great for viewing family pictures. Not so great for zooming in to read text or look at details since that detail is lost. This is especially bad with Manga and Comics as the text simply becomes unreadable. With this app the detail isn't lost.

It does what it promises. The images look crisp and clear when resized. It's exactly what I needed.

I had a slight bit of trouble getting it to download .zips via URL. I assume that was a network issue on my end though as I have two subnets and the router could have killed the incoming port request. The downloaded sample off the web worked just fine so I know the method works.

It wasn't too much of an issue though. The beautiful thing about this app is that it also acts as a portable FTP (Only when you turn it on of course. Don't get paranoid :P). You can simply use FileZilla or another free FTP client to login and manually drag the files in. Painless and easy.

Overall for 99 cents you can't go wrong. Even if you don't need it for comics or manga... Get it to store map files. This app is so much more than comics and manga for me, but it's great for that too. I thought I'd never get Manga viewable on my iPod Touch.

For reference I'm on an iPod Touch 3G v3.1.3

  • Could be better

I paid my $1 for this comic reader it worked half way decent but didn't accept .cbr files and was pretty slow changing pages. So I looked into some other apps for .cbz and .cbr support. I found comicbooklover app. It supports both .cbz and .cbr and converts them to iPhone sizes for fast page loading WAY faster than this app! Best thing about comicbooklover is it is FREE!! If they made some of those changes to this app I'd give it 4 stars for effort but right now I can only give it 2 stars.

  • The best image viewing app, now in HD!

Comic and manga readers rejoice, the premiere image viewing app: iComic is now iPad compatible! iComic allows users to view JPG, PNG and other image files in their original resolution - without any need to compromise image quality by converting image files to iPhone/iPad friendly formats. Although images can only be downloaded to the app via web interface, the app supports CBZ and ZIP archives which makes transferring groups of images much more easier. Where iComic shines though is in it's supreme rendering speed - with the ability to cycle through even the largest of images at blazing fast speeds with ease. Multiple viewing and control options are also available such as locked zooming, and zoom preference to particular dimension (such as width or height) which makes this app ideal for viewing volumes of zipped comic book archives.

  • Looks great on iPad

I had been waiting for this app to be fully updated for the iPad, and I'm glad i didn't cave in and pay for one of the more expensive readers. For the price, this app is a steal, and it does all the things I need like bookmarks, tapping, swiping, zooming, etc. Also, I like using the wireless FTP transfer option so I can just drag and drop whole folders straight from the Finder. Right now the swipe doesn't seem to work, but I have faith that'll be fixed quickly.

  • One of many excellent comic viewing apps.

This is one of the most easy to use comic viewing apps for the iPod Touch.
  • Awesome App for Comics

This is a really good app for reading comics on the iphone/itouch. To get the best out of this app - use ifunbox to transfer the comic files on and off your device. The only caveat is that the photo dimensions of the pages can't be too large or this app will skip over those.
