Needs improvement

Since the move the to “new” Target Circle, things have gone downhill. It is very difficult for me to locate true Target Circle offers, as the free gift card with purchase and automatically applied “offers” for on sale items clog things up. If it’s truly a free gift card with purchase and a sale item, there is absolutely no need to include them within the list of offers that we wish to redeem. If you have an offer for Target Circle Cardholders to earn a reward when a threshold is met, follow through on the terms clearly outlined with the offer. If it states that the threshold needs to be met prior to discounts being applied, provide the reward to your Customer. I have already called three times to get this issue resolved, only to be told that there is a long wait time for me to be transferred to the Target Circle Team, who will apply the reward to my account; therefore, I will have to call back AGAIN because I cannot wait on hold now. I am a full time parent with a full time job. I do not have time to keep calling back and being transferred around. My time is far more valuable than your measly $15 reward. Lastly, Customers no longer earn rewards on our purchases, unless we pay with a Target Card. While I do have a Target Card, I find this to be unfair for Customers who do not qualify for one. You took away a perk from many loyal Customers. As a 19 year Cardholder, I no longer see the value in keeping this account active.

Target is the American Dream, It is the only Retailer the refers to there customers as “Guests”

Target has and will increase your quality of life and peace of mind. It’s just there for everything in your life. The Brands culture actually care about there patrons and consumers and there has not been one time I’ve been to any Target location where there wasn’t multiple staff available to physically help a no assist you with your needs. Same thing for phone and app usage, there is always an assistant there to assist you with your needs, This is literally a recurring miracle from Heaven. There are much worser options out there for retailers to shop that are absolutely horrendous; with Walmart at large, being the #1 in the Hall of Shame. Doing business at Target you truly do feel like a “guest” in one home. Target is also very interested in customer feedback showing the brands initiative to constantly improve to not lose the plot with there shoppers. Target truly is the best retailer, and I’m a life long supporter and would recommend Target to anyone who wants a good products but with high quality in there lives.

Fraud and dark patterns in this app

The app allows you to place home delivery orders, they fraudulently display sale prices on their checkout page when the order cannot be delivered until the next day and the next day is the start of a new sale cycle. The order total they show you and you agree to includes the sale price for the items you have selected, the next day when they “shop” the order you placed the previous evening and agreed to pay the sale price of that item, they charge you the non sale price. This is clear bait and switch, there is zero technical reason to construct the app in this manner, they know that orders placed after a delivery window for a given day on days where sales switch will not be on sale anymore and thus the sale price they show you is fraudulent. This developer is engaged in dark patterns to trap consumers into paying higher prices even when the consumer has *already paid for the order with ther sale prices before the sale period has ended. If you call their help line the rep will lie up and down telling you this is not fraud and is a legit business practice. I’ll be following up this review with a complaint to the state AG office regarding these dark patterns and fraudulent practices.

Wallet not working while in store

I’ve been using this app for years. Having the wallet feature has been a plus because I didn’t need to carry my physical card with me. I’ve had a few problems recently. The most recent was yesterday. I went to pay at the self-checkout. I had already checked to make sure I was connected to the WiFi. My wallet feature would not open. I tried closing the app and reopening but it wouldn’t work. The only thing I could do was try to sign in, but I don’t know my password. I always use facial recognition to sign in. That wasn’t working. I don’t know why. I had loaded digital coupons that morning and there was no problem then. I did not accidentally sign out as the app stated “hello, Leslie “ at the top. Why wasn’t the wallet working? I ended up using a bank credit card because I needed to go home. When I went home I checked the wallet and it still wouldn’t open. I didn’t feel like dealing with it then. I tried again this morning with the intention of resigning in. To my surprise it opened the wallet like it was supposed to. It would help if it worked in the store. I did not get my 5% discount for using my RedCard. This has happened before and I spoke with a representative, or actually several, who said I would be credited but I never was. I assume there was a glitch in the app. Do I need to go back to carrying my card?

I love shopping on line.

I’m 71 years old and handicap and every month I order about 20 pounds worth of cat food and 20 pounds worth of cat sand that would be way too much to carry for me so buying online is fantastic. Plus I buy other things too like this time, I bought a broom and dust pail and 2 pounds jellybeans, I found buying 2 pound bag half the price of buying a 1 pound bag per pound. So I money there. And it looks nice in my candy jar and I buy laundry products and paper products and so many things that would be hard for me to, buy in person and drive home and get it into. My caretaker is 76 years old and it would be hard for him to lug these things around too. So this is really good for old folks. And I love target Eye Dr. and stop in and do some shopping in person though probably once every two weeks would give them 10 stars if there was a way to do that. Love this place. And the prices are really good for us. People live on our Social Security checks bye for now Melody. your friendly shopper.

Is it a shipt order?

I thought I placed a target order with a target circle account using target same day delivery (so fabulous we offer such amazing service). But when anything appears off, like I don’t know, your order doesn’t get shopped and it just says it will arrive by 10 pm even though it’s now 11 pm and hasn’t even shown a pulse or any signs of motion since you placed it three hours ago. So you figure out how to contact chat and they ask you if it’s a shipt order and then say they can’t help you. And give you a phone number to call.
That was last week. Silly me I tried again to order and this time it didn’t apply my gift cards and also said I no longer had any gift cards. So I contact help, silly me. And after providing all kinds of fun verification data they say is it a shipt order? And give me a number to call. Wow. Stop saying target same day deliver and say Shipt will be servicing you so if you have any issues (which you will) with your same day delivery please contact Shipt. Oh and I love “ is there anything else I can help you with.” Like I’m gonna be like you know I was trying to buy this one ultra soft toothbrush…NO THERES NO OTHER ISSUE. You didn’t help me with the first, actual problem . Why would I trust you with another request even if I had one???

Too busy

Hi, A few suggestions to make this app better. Make it terribly easy to filter results to things that are available IN STORE. I don’t like having to individually click each item to see if it’s available. It want my full search results to reflect stores within my 15 mile radius. I guess that’s it for now. I love the store Target, but the app truly drives me crazy. There’s too many do this to get that deal and do that to get this other thing. And then there are these points you can get and save up to use, but that’s buried 4 layers deep too. As I’m writing, I am slowly realizing I sound like a boomer. It’s just too cluttered. Needs to be streamlined bc when I get frustrated I don’t work harder to figure out how to use the app better, I go to a different company’s app if I think it’s easier to navigate. I truly do like Target, but if I’m looking for foam corner protectors for a child’s room, I want to find the local store results in 20 seconds or less. If I can’t do that, then the design of the app has failed. That is all. Good luck adding this feature! Thanks! (Work WITH your brick and mortar stores, not against them to get online sales. You’re the same company….)

So much easier and so convenient!!

Love my target app, keeps me up to date with items I love that I sometimes can’t find in stores. It is kind of annoying when there’s an item that’s in high demand and you turn notifications on and you can NEVER get the item even when you just got the notification and one second into opening the app it’s GONE! But it does have it’s good side too. If you favorite certain items, the app will let you know if there’s a sale on it!
I love scanning certain items in the store to see if there’s any offers. A lot of times I find sale items online that the store can match so that’s a big plus on having the app. Also if you do target circle it is really handy when you want to make a return and lost your receipt, it automatically saves on the app so you can return without receipt and still get your money back i whatever form you paid originally. There are SO many good things about this app including how easy is to navigate on it for your favorite lines. Another plus is, if your nearest target doesn’t have an item it lets you know if other targets near you have it. Great app!

The push notifications are terrible

When an item is out of stock. The Target app let’s you switch an alert and notify you when an item comes back in stock. Which is an awesome feature. However for the past few months I keep getting alerts that items are back in stock when they are not actually in stock. However what’s happening is that the alert is showing me items are back in stock in my “area” or stores close to me. However they’re not in stock for shipping. It’s incredibly annoying because the items that I’m being notified that are in stock in my “area“ are ridiculously to far away to drive for pickup. If I live in Houston Area in the suburbs of Houston in Friendswood, TX why would the app let me know that the item I want that’s in stock can be picked up at Woodlands, TX!!! That’s on the other side of Houston and no where near my area. It’s a very long drive with a ton of traffic!!! It’s not worth the drive. Why can’t the Target app only notify when items are in stock for shipping. That feature used to work for items in stock for shipping only but now it continuously notifies for the items that are in stock in store my “area.” However the items are no where near a Target near me unless I want to drive an hour or more away in Houston traffic. Please fix this

Could not refund target circle reward to me

Do not use your target circle cash reward to pay for an item to pick up unless you are 100% certain that that item is actually in stock. I ordered an item to pick up in store that was listed as in stock on the app but ended up being out of stock. In lieu of it being out of stock they cancelled my order. I went in to ask what would happen to the target circle reward cash I had used to pay for the item and they told me it would be refunded to me within 24 hours and if not, to come back. I came back 48 hours later when it was still not refunded to me. They told me in the store that they couldn’t do anything to help me and just gave me the customer service phone number. After spending ten minutes on the phone with customer service I was told they couldn’t refund it to me because it’s target circle cash reward. Their only solution was to give me a reference number that I could present to someone if I tried to replace the order OVER THE PHONE and they would discount me that target circle reward amount. Absolutely insane that they have no other way to get my money back to me. They didn’t even offer me a gift card or anything that substituted that reward amount.
