Great fun
It has a strategy but the dice don’t always cooperate. Fun to see if you can survive to get to the area to get to the home cue. Still fun Like that you can stop with out a timer! Great fun! Go! backgammon! Love the strategy needed to get your game pieces home. Mindless fun I use it to relax. Fast an fun game. Love figuring out the strategy to win. It”s a challenge to get your men home as the difficulty goes up! A challenge if you go above easy level. I still come back to this game because it is fun. Love the challenge. I play to relax. Fun to play, and outsmart your opponent. Still 5 stars! Still 5 stars! Strategy!!!

Ads Pop Up Every Other Move and There Is No Way to X Out of Them!!
UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW BELOW: I re-installed the game and the ads have all but disappeared. I don’t know why the difference but it is a completely different experience and very enjoyable.
The ads in this app are pernicious. The ad finishes playing and I am not interested. There is no X. The only symbol is >> which takes you to the App Store. Even if you go to the App Store you cannot get rid of the ad when you return to the game unless you close the application and restart it. No matter what you press on the screen you end up at the App Store. Again you cannot close the page and return without restarting the app. I loved this game before being inundated with all the ads! Nice Game
Entertaining, especially when I’m waiting. This version of Backgammon is easy to use. Double six turns up at the wrong time more often than at the right time. I’m so used to this game. It’s the one and only game on n here. You have too many ads. I make two moves and you give me an advertisement. Make two more moves and another advertisement. I don’t mind an ad after every match. Lately I’ve been overwhelmed by too many advertisements.Show lesst2topomo
Computer Advantage
I have played Backgammon for years, and the computer definitely has the advantage. It does not use strategy, it gets far better rolls of the dice in it’s favor, and makes the game less competitive and less fun. I have had this downloaded for a long time, played and then get frustrated with the advantage which is almost 3 to one in favor of the computer, that I am putting it aside again to play other games more fair and strategy based. Love the game. Reason for only 4 stars is this. When using the doubling cube, the choice is only agree or not agree. There should be another choice; to view the board again. I always want to review the board before making my choice. Sadly that is not an option at this time. I had another backgammon game on another phone where this was an option. Sadly I cannot find that app anywhere. Please update this fix, then this will be five stars! Additionally there is one ad in particular that causes the pieces to shrink to the size of a pin dot. While I expect ads, only one causes the board pieces to be so minuscule I quit the game. It’s ridiculous! If any developers see this, it’s the ad w the green stripe across the top, with various “articles “ you can read / click on and has a countdown of 10 seconds before you can clear the screen. It’s very annoying to have to close out of the middle of a game, wait an hour or more and check back. While the game is still where I left it, sometimes the pieces are back to regular size and sometimes I have to wait longer.Show lessbriana the gardener

Enjoying this particular brand of Backgammon BUT, when playing the Hard level, the only way the computer wins is by rolling doubles which is frustrating.
The interruption of commercials is frustrating especially when I can’t get them to go away even when I watch the entire thing. It goes to ‘Today’ which I can’t get out of so I go to another game. Not good.Show lessjrrprd
Ads interrupt at key moments
The game play is good, as are the graphics, though it can be somewhat cluttered and overdone. The main problem is that the ads pop up after your opponent rolls and while they are making their moves. You are seeing ads - they are still playing - so you miss their ads. Usually I can see what they did, but not always.
The ads are also more intrusive than most. They last longer, they make it look like you opened something by mistake, etc
Dear developer: I understand the need to make money, but maybe run ads when searching for an opponent, right b4 the game starts, and maybe another time, too, but have both players viewing ads at the same time so no one misses anything. Thanks.Show lessThe ERISA Dude
Decent but computer dice are rigged
Firstly, it bombards you with advertisements on the free version. Somewhat expected with a free to play game but it’s a bit out of hand.
Secondly, the computer dice are rigged. While playing on hardest level the computers dice will roll whatever it needs to make up for inadequate AI. For instance the computer needs to roll 4 or a 2 to get its piece back and a 6 to hit me, it will roll it almost every time. The actual odds are only 11% but since the AI isn’t smart enough to consistently beat a good player it will out roll you by increasing its odds of rolling what it needs. This is extremely frustrating and makes me want to find a new backgammon app.Show lessDon the magic
Good overall but needs Turn based option please!
The game is good generally but the AI is constantly getting double rolls so there really needs to be a turn based option please. There is not always someone available to play an online game - probably fairly often that is the case - and this is where a turn based game option is so very helpful. The players can play as they have the time available without needing to commit to a full game at one time. And backgammon is an excellent fit for a turn based game. Please please please consider it! I know it is possible through Game Center still and it is available on other game apps without Game Center - so it is completely mystifying by so many developers ignore this option. Thank you!
