  • Acey-Ducey

I Love the game. I played Acey-Ducey the board game since I was a kid. I was excited that they have an app for it. Just a couple things. I paid for the game and I still get Advertisements I hope they will correct that. The roll of the dice really doesn’t seem to be a random roll, I can almost guess what the next roll is gonna be and the move it will make. I would prefer it to be a random roll and use strategy to determine the difficulty level. I’ve had this game for quite some time. In my opinion this app is the best one out there. I would definitely recommend this app.

  • What a crock!

When I first started playing this app, everything seemed on the up and up. But then I was winning quite a few games. Suddenly things shifted to where it seemed like the dice were loaded. They ARE!
*Notice how at the start of the game, the app never rolls a die that matches yours.
*At the end of the game, watch how often, as you’re about to win anyway, the app gives you doubles. As if it’s obliged to give you as many doubles as the dealer. Weird!
*After awhile it seems like you’re actually playing against someone; a player who loads the dice. The rolls seem unbelievable.
*As your wins stack up and overtake those of the app, it gets even worse.
Finally, you are locked out of the app! It won’t open on any of your devices. You can try to delete the app and reload it, but that doesn’t work.
It’s plain you’ve been booted. Would an app do this by itself? No! Clearly this is a confirmation. I have been playing against a human-in-control for at least some of my games. What an ego trip this is!

  • Would love to give five stars...

I would love to give this game 5 stars. However after the last update, the game will not load. I don’t like the orientation of play for regular backgammon in single player mode. I am accustomed to the play going right (home) to left (finish). In addition, I don’t like that you cannot make certain available plays. You are forced to make plays by the computer. I have, thus far, only encountered this while playing aces-deucey. I love that players have aces-deucey as an option! Unfortunately, I can’t play the game anymore after the last update! 😡. I tried deleting the app and re-installating it. Still will not load.

  • Patterns show dice not random

I obviously like this game since I play it constantly, have played 1000s of matches but there’s no question it is rigged in favor of the computer. For example if it doubles you and you accept, it will always roll doubles on the next roll. Always. And will roll many more doubles to win that game. Watch out when it doubles you for no good reason, when it isn’t really in a good position to win. Then the cheating is guaranteed to follow. But it is still fun and once you accept that it’s not random you can overlook it. I’m addicted.

  • Just right

All the backgammon you want without all the crazy bells, whistles, and graphics you don’t. You can just play. And the computer dice rolls are WAY more fair than the other backgammon apps I tried.

There are some issues with dice rolling: the computer wins the opening took roughly 90% of the time. The computer gets a VERY high percentage of “convenient” rolls when the user leaves an open token. And the computer magically gets more doubles when rolling out.

There is no indication of how many levels in the game. It would be nice to know

  • Ads have become intolerable!

I've played this game for years, but the length, frequency and nature of the ads have become so maddening I couldn't stand it any more. I deleted the app. If I'm playing Backgammon, why would I be interested in an ad for a graphically violent game? And 30 second ads after every game for 5 games straight!? It's really too bad because the game itself was fairly good. The computer, at the Hard level, still makes stupid mistakes that were mentioned in reviews a couple years ago.
    September 2020:
So I reinstalled this game, and there have been improvements in the computer’s playing logic, however I just deleted it again for 2 reasons.
    1. Ridiculously long advertisements.
    2. Dice rolls that defy randomness.

  • Some Problems

This game is SO fun, but as soon as I changed it to Medium, it skipped my turn almost EVERY round!! Even when I was able to make a play, it would say No more possible moves, skipping turn!!! As I’m writing this, I thought it was necessary to say that I was JUST playing this Game!!!
Even after this ridiculous occasion I STILL love the game, it’s just annoying that the computer programming is problematic.🙁👎🏻I only wanted to play it at a slightly harder level, but because something went wrong apparently I CAN’T!! I still love it but when the computer gets doubles like five times in a row it is ANNOYING

  • Pleasant enough diversion but may have an issue with random dice generator.

Simply fun but after playing single player/ computer for perhaps 100 games on hard. I decided that the dice are not really randomly generated but must have some kind of algorithm that generates the dice combinations. In the last to games that I just played I had the the computer opponent blocked in an 2 in the hole while I was taking pips off and then the computer dice rolled double 6 twice, double 4 once and a double 3 to win. In my last 3 of 4 rolls I rolled an ace and a deuce. I guess it is possible but I do not think the it is likely to occurs in the practical universe

  • Backgammon

Good for beginners and more skilled players. Can’t get enough from playing it. Also be aware that if you say or think the computer cheats with some rolls of the dice, you are right-BUT this forces you to be more creative in how to set up blocks and be strategic as to avoid problems as they arrise. Biggest point is know when to double, but just as importantly-when to resign, then play again. Only thing this doesn’t do is beginning rolls, never rolls doubles to double the cube automatically. I consider that the next challenge level.

  • Mostly very good

I only play on hard and for the most part the game is very good BUT it is poor about moving men in to roll off. For example, game has 1 man left out 2 points away and rolls a 5-3. It would move 1 man already in the 5 and then the man out the 3 and not take anyone off. The correct move is 100% move the one 2 out 3 pips and then take a 5 off.

The game also doesn't really seem to understand the value/power of a 6 point block. They may be trapped behind 1, but if they are up in the pip count at the time, not only will they take a double, but they will double you right back! I just finished a game when my six point board was the inner court so the computer literally had no moves until I started taking off, but still took a double as we were only 2 pips apart.
