Love the app

As someone who has read as a kid along with my family, it has been amazing! It’s perfect for family accounts, how you can access the account from many different devices, also that you can access all the books you have bought on the account from all devices, so you can read your book on someone else’s device, logging on to new devices is easy and simple and buying books online instead of on paper is so much cheaper and less hassle as they’re completely portable. It’s great that everyone can be reading on the same account but so many books at one time, I currently use the kindle app on my phone, iPad and Kindle and love that it syncs my place in the book so I can easily swap between devices without having to skip forwards. There is a great range of text fonts and sizes and I haven't come across any major problems with the app or Kindle device after using it for almost a decade, and I will continue to read with it in the future.

Crashing

After latest update app won’t even load, crashes immediately

Crashes on launch

Version 6.6 crashes upon launch. Who tests these programs before releasing them?

Terrible update

Just downloaded the new update and now my kindle will not open. Worked perfectly before Terrible update

Version 6.60 - App crashes immediately on opening

You need to issue another update. V6.60 app crashes immediately on opening.

Great Ap but hard to organize Library and Store Needs to filter books you have already read.

This Ap is a great alternative to buying a second E-book reader to have to carry around. It makes reading on your phone much easier on your eyes because I don’t know about anyone else but there’s just something about Ibooks that hurts.

But the Kindle unlimited store is the most frustrating experience, it constantly recommends and pushes books at you that you have already read and there is no way to filter out already read content. That would be a very handy feature. You can’t filter read from unread until it is in your library.

I am the author of Cult Girls

I am the author of this 3 year passion project. After many years of seeing countless struggling good woman being treated so poorly (better off dead) by their family and once close friends, I felt the need for healing comedic and having a colorful educational tale of the wacky upbringing, JW marriage culture, common incidents to us as being raised as Jehovah's Witness, divorced as a JW, married to an elder. It touches topics such as smoking, abortion, birth control, JW's wacky and unfair judicial system, the recruiting process, the love bombing process and the parental conditional love that most sadly experience in a suppressive, strict religion environment and has a guidebook narrative of how to fade out. I also felt it was something that people should educate themselves that what might look acceptable when you are love bombed on a door knock, there is a whole other side of why people are actually in the faith and are just pretending to be happy. The beauty of life is that we are all at different stages, have individual personality, desires, goals and dreams and this is all presented in the book with the woven tales of Talia and her dear friends. That is why cults are bad I feel, we are all different and we should learn to trust ourselves and be able to explore our individual desires and purpose in life. Cult Girls

Don’t deal with Amazon because benefits change without notice.

I paid for Amazon Prime and I was getting as a benefit free Kindle and Amazon music. Now you no longer get these and you get to pay for them as a money grab. They changed a contract that I agreed to pay an amount for prime membership and perks and now the perks are gone!

Could we stop with the ridiculous English with heavy Italian accent?

This is great book. It documents so well the struggle, rivalry and jealousy among these renaissance greats. I honestly wish I would have read rather than listened to this book. It does a great disservice to the narrative. I don’t fault the narrator at all. Rather, there is this ridiculous American convention, which is frankly rather provincial, that when foreigners speak in movies and now in e-books they somehow have to do it with a ridiculous accent. This is true of Germans, or Polish, or French. If you have access to foreign movies or e-books, NOBODY follows this rather ridiculous and archaic convention! You don’t see American Westerns for example, where cowboys speak terrible French with a heavy American accent. This is a particular American convention designed to underscore the β€œforeignnesses β€œ of the speaker. In this time and age it actually comes across not only as xenophobic but as quite provincial. If you think about it for a second, the content is so rich, that the story would have not been minimized one bit, had the narrator been allowed to let Leonardo and Michelangelo speak normally in the language the book was being read. I was continuously distracted and ANNOYED (in case you didn’t pick up on this yet) by the ridiculous accents.

Was a 5 until yesterday

I started using the Kindle App as soon as the pandemic hit, so basically for 2 years. I love how easy it is to use. I got a Kindle Paper last year and syncing it with my IPhone App is easy and convenient. I have read hundreds of books through the Kindle app and haven’t went more than a couple days without using the app.

I like that you can create lists for books you want to read. Since you can only have so many books in your library at one time, I utilized the Lists feature often to keep track of books I want to read in the future. Until yesterday, this function worked. I tried to add a book to one of my lists, and when I tried to select one of the lists, it wouldn’t work. I can see books that were added to my lists prior to yesterday, however I cannot add any new books to my Lists. Super frustrating. Cannot find any threads on line that address this issue. I deleted the app and re downloaded it in my phone but it still isn’t working. The Lists feature is a huge part of using the Kindle App so please fix this!!
