It could be better
The app is swamped with adverts to potentially unsafe websites, which can be easily clicked on by mistake as you’re scrolling through.
It is also odd that when you click on a top story, it links you through to a page with just the headline and photo but no story. It is just a zoomed-in version of what you can see on the homepage.
I do like that you can navigate to news about the specific areas of Manchester and Greater Manchester.Show lessKatharine_88

Useless update
Don’t get me wrong - I love this app. Or more accurately I loved this app.
I installed the update tonight and I’m utterly unimpressed and frustrated. Text is too small to read comfortably. The contrast is too harsh. My bookmarked articles have been lost. Apparently this is supposed to be making things better. There’s no accessibility options to adjust the text size or the contrast. There’s no way to search articles to even attempt to be able to retrieve lost bookmarks.
I thought that I would have at the very least got some accessibility options with the update. Not that I particularly needed them before because the old version was actually useable.Show lessPeterska2

Bugs need fixing
Used the app daily to catch up on local news, but lately there seems to be bugs where the app updates when you open it, so you catch a glimpse of new articles, but then it reverts back to the previous days stories a second later.
Also, for some articles now, you tap on them and nothing happens, so certain articles I cannot read because there’s no response when I try to open them.
I’ve also never understood why some articles you can comment on and others you can’t. All or nothing MEN, like other news apps!Show lessEA330

Would be useful if it worked!!! Outdated articles often left on for days. News notifications.. when you click on them the app opens, only to find a picture and the headline but no article!!! Then you try and find it within the app and it cannot be found, until hours later. Not great, there have been several updates recently but this bug hasn’t been addressed. Could be so much better if the glitches were ironed out and articles were updated regularly throughout the day.Show lessJonclord
