  • great but watch updates

    Great app but a forced update when catching a train made me miss a platform change and get delayed 2 hours (platform was showing as unchanged until after I updated). Keeping platform changes active on old versions after a new update has been released would be helpful for time-critical situations
  • Worth getting for travelers

    The DB is a must-have for any visitor in Germany who expects to use the trains. It allows you to purchase tickets for individual trips as well as monitor the status of trains you plan on taking. Additionally, you can bookmark specific trips for reference — this can be especially helpful if you plan on using a travel pass and would otherwise not not need an eticket.

    Information on train delays—sadly a common occurrence in 2024—are as up to date as the postings at the station.

  • Little to not usable

    Very frustrating how cheap this app was put together, the payment provider doesn’t communicate to the app so your payments usually won’t work. This causes you to waste your time until you get to the very end just for the payment not to work. Very frustrating and a pretty fair representation of how DB isn’t operating up to its old standard of reliability.

  • Worst app and train company I’ve ever used

    If I Could give less than one star I would, First off I couldn’t even purchase the Deutschland travel ticket through DB because they didn’t have an country option for the U.S, so i had to go through a third party, just to buy the ticket, and then I couldn’t even register it in my own name because i wasn’t 18 at the time so My parents bought it for me, and an employee at The DB information desk today me it was okay to have my parents info on the ticket i purchased it through the third party, and I thought everything was fine till a DB train employee told me the ticket wasn’t valid because it wasn’t in my name and almost fined me 60 euros, even after I told her that an employee of DB train told me it was okay to have my parents name on the ticket, so instead she had me purchase a 30 euro one time ticket. easily the worst experience i’ve had not just any train company, but just any company in general.

  • Unglaublich

    Warum ist es so schwierig ein Deutschland Ticket über die App zu kaufen??

    IBAN Nummer kann man fast garnicht eingeben, und Verifizierung klappt einfach mal gar nicht.

    Hab die Webseite stattdessen benutzen müssen.. und jetzt zeigt mir die App das Ticket nicht an.

    Ich checke es nicht. So viele Probleme!

  • Cannot buy tickets/app is none functional

    Most frustrating experience. Input fields are extremely slow, takes 5 mins to enter your IBAN.. it’s extremely laggy.

    Then verification step straight up doesn’t work… the camera doesn’t load, so you have to guess if the image is in the frame. After trying to take the picture, than it opens a video that doesn’t even load. waste of an hour with no results.

    Why have an app if it doesn’t even work? I had to use the website to buy the ticket and now I can’t even open the ticket in the app. Completely useless!

  • How is this company still in buisness?

    I have had a monthly subscription for a little over a year now and from the start of this month, the app has decided to completely malfunction. It’s really disappointing as I have to use DB to travel to a town an hour away for school where I am learning German. It makes me extremely nervous to travel on the train when my app is not functioning despite having a valid ticket THAT I PAID FOR.

    It’s pretty awful for me to have to explain in my broken German that no, I’m not hitching a free ride but the ticket just doesn’t work at all. I have tried everything that the website suggested and I have done the obvious, deleting and reinstalling the app and logging in and out of my account. The service just doesn’t work at all but it works fine for them to take the money out of my account still.

  • how to get the english version ?

    my iOS is french, so it seems the app defaults to german, but I want it to be in english. I can’t find the proper setting. Also the link to the developper in the appstore is broken 404.
  • Incorrect day of week

    Dates and day of week appear to be out by a year.
  • 1 step forward, 2 steps back

    Official apps should really be the best ones. Unfortunately I find myself relying on Bahnfinder more often.

    Reasons for 1 star (WARNING: long review)

    1 - random bugs and crashes

    2 - widgets disappeared, active ones turned plain white

    3 - no more maps, which were vital for finding connections, especially bus stops

    4 - missing journey starting location in the search results - there’s more than 1 way of getting somewhere, I’d like to be able to see the starting points (street name) LIKE YOU USED TO SHOW BEFORE

    5 - keeps asking me about my payment method, even when I already set a default

    6 - unable to download DeutschlandTicket receipts on mobile - web viewer Rechnungen page gives a loading indicator in the UI, then nothing happens

    7 - DOES NOT MENTION PARTIAL FARES - this used to be shown in the search results, but the current version uses different words further in the booking process, which is confusing and mostly unnoticeable, almost as if they want you to pay more without realising it. I fell for it, and felt cheated, and had to stay a night in a friend’s hotel room before going home due to not having the full journey truly booked (because of this change).

    My device: iPhone 13 Pro on iOS 17.1.2

    If you want a better review, make your app better, and stop removing useful features. Thank you.
