Suggestion for credit card usage.

I’m a new customer to BOQ, I have a credit card so the app works OK. I can see the balance, and what has been charged. BUT how about showing PENDING transactions, this way I can see if there is any fraudulent activity before I see it as being processed. It can take days from the initial transaction to appear as a charge to the card. Other providers have it, it can’t be that hard to show it as pending. Making this is a proactive process that will in the end save me and you, the bank. Plus make it easier to contact the app developer for such suggestions.

Needs lots of improvement

I honestly don’t know why I’m still banking with with this bank. I do have another 2 bank accounts with 2 other big 4 banks. And their apps are miles ahead of BOQ. It’s 2024 and if other banks can do it then why not BOQ? I constantly see duplicate transactions within the app. You can’t click on the transaction to get further information like other bank apps. You can’t lock your card or limit features of your card from the app, such as restricting online transactions with your card, or notifying bank with intention to travel overseas. There has also been many times I get kicked off the app after login. I think it needs a desperate upgrade.

So bad it has to be a prank!!

I’m not one to normally write a review but this app is so, so, so bad that I feel I must insist to BOQ that they immediately fire all the people involved in the creation of this abomination all the way to Head of Digital. It cannot be understated how spectacularly bad this app is and how excruciatingly frustrating an experience it is to try and use it. Not only is the lack of functionality embarrassing at level I’ve never before experienced, but usability is like you’re on one of those hilarious Japanese game shows designed to humiliate and injure people. I don’t use the app very often for all these reasons but BOQ seem to have now added a new “onboarding” experience when you launch the app to showcase the new “features”. This set of welcome screens is like an escape room puzzle without an exit and impossibly frustrating “features” like screens where the next button is unreachable because the screen scrolling snaps back. It’s unfathomable to think to that this is merely incompetence or lack of testing. This sort of spectacular lack of usable functionality can only be explained by this being a deliberate prank…but April fools is over now, BOQ. Did you forget to put the real app back again?

THE WORST BANKING APP

If there was an option to give a zero star rating, this App would get it. Such an absolute disgrace from a Bank to put out such rubbish! Start using the Billions in profit to enhance customer experience. Even more so now that all institutions are moving to on-line services, I can’t even scroll my bank account recent transactions now to check on my transactions. Two years ago I was told by BOQ Staff the new app is coming soon, and still nothing, not even an update to fix it. The new BOQ Finance app is for new accounts and you still need to use this old app to access your accounts. SO FRUSTRATING! I’ll be another customer taking my banking elsewhere soon if things don’t change!

Amazingly dysfunctional

I have a theory that the terribleness of the app is directly related to how good your mortgage rate will be… & BOQ‘s rate was good. I’ve banked with them for 6 years now & I'm fascinated with how bad this app has been over that time.
It went a solid year in there where it would instantly crash on opening, & BOQ shamelessly didn’t fix it. It does look like it’s stuck in the 1990’s, doesn’t have the option of entering a pin password let alone facial recognition; you can’t change the date of recurring transactions- can only cancel them… & lots of other user-non-friendly fantastic ness inside.

Ancient

This app is atrocious. BOQ should be ashamed. Been with them for a couple years and this app and their internet banking is ancient. There is not one aspect that is successful or that i can speak positively about. It’s clunky and crashes/logs you out incessantly. You can’t even set up recurring payments from the app. Trying to view an eStatement on this is infuriating (won’t let you zoom out to see entire document or account info). My friends can transfer between each other’s banks instantly while my transfers to them or there’s to me takes days, even a week. Thus i’ve been looking to change banks and saw the competitor-blitzing interest rates BOQ is offering on their new app (that’s off limits to existing customer accounts). It was definitely enticing but after reading that app’s reviews the 4.75% isn’t worth it. Sounds like not much has changed except a more modern façade. The new customers are finding it just as behind in comparison to competitors. That rate seems like a desperate plea for customers.

Worst banking app

I have never seen such a poor app. The user interface is so old and dated. Doing simple tasks take twice as long as they should because it doesn’t support swipes and gestures, instead there are clunky drop down menus. There are no options for pay id transfers. There’s a section for statements but when i open one, it doesn’t fully load. Every-time there is an update, it asks me to set my profile and local branch. Doesn’t support face id or pin so it takes twice as long as it should to login
I get BOQ is a small bank but it doesn’t cost much to make a decent app. Given 99% of my interaction with the bank is via the app and website, a poor app gives the impression of a poor bank.

BOQ APP no support

For about two years now I have tried everything I can to complete internet banking on my iPhone , my provider is Vodafone and the only way to do my business on my phone is to google BOQ. Further I went to my branch, browns plains Qld and the best advice was it was Vodafone’s fault .!!!
I have deleted and reinstalled many times and still nothing !!
BOQ it seems are the only company that their blatant lack of understanding or shown any attempt to rectify its commitment to providing its customers with a reliable banking service and the regulator should use its power to ask the hard questions why they do not want Australians to use their service without mobile phone banking .

Even when I google the bank and sign in to do one transaction you have to deal with the constant crashes . I don’t want to change banks I should be able to use the app as should the thousands of others who all seem to suffer the same frustrations

An all round useless App

In a world of modern technology this app looks and feels like it was designed by school children as part of a school project. Only the most basic functionality and it’s horrible to use. The entire settings field consists of the ability to change font size; nothing more. Everything else, including updating contact detail, you have to call BOQ. Pull your heads out BOQ and invest some money…

Just awful

This truly is a remarkably terrible app. So terrible in fact, that I’ve decided I need to write a review.
If you actually manage to sign in, you’re met with a myriad of glitches and problems. For example, want to download a statement? You can’t. Because the app cuts off the right half of the screen where I assume the options to download or print the statement are.
If you go to a certain spot of the app and try to go back, you’ll be forgiven for thinking the little X will close the section you’re looking at, but no, it’ll log you out completely. For the amount of money you’re getting from people, surely investing a bit in building a proper app would be a priority.
