Shame on you BOQ Mobile App

There should not be any option for giving star for you guys. Shame on you. A new learner developer can make a better app than you guys. What the hell you guys are getting paid for? Nothing!!! Yes, you guys are getting free money for doing nothing. Lot of times BOQ app was not working whether it is for transferring the money or for simply for checking the balance. I have one suggestion. Learn from the other Mobile banking apps. I’ll give you some names, you might be familiar with these names: Commbank, NAB, ING, Westpac, ANZ, UP, MeBank, AMEX, Bankwest. Go and do some homework first before launching any app otherwise do your traditional paperwork and stop using so called “New Modern App” kinda thing which is not in your range at all 😡

So Bad I Switched Banks

After having a BOQ Credit Card for 16 years and putting up with the absolute disinterest from those managing this appalling app I finally cancelled my BOQ card and moved to NAB for no other reason than the far better banking experience using the NAB app.

The total contempt BOQ management seems to have for long standing customers is very apparent to anyone who scrolls through the reviews here that go back many years.

Nothing ever changes. This app and BOQ are living in the dark ages and there is no need for any of us to put up with this lack of care. If this is the level of tech in the app on public display you can imagine how poorly things are managed behind closed doors.

Worst banking app I have ever used

I really hope this app gets a make over and becomes more user friendly. Firstly when you open the app is doesn’t even ask for your password, you actually have to click login. Of course I want to login! There is no option to set up a pin to login and putting in your password is a pain as the keyboard is slow to respond or doesn’t open at all or opens then goes away again. It’s really just their website on your phone. The interface is really bad and the buttons are to small. It doesn’t show you a running balance either but this it the same on their website. BOQ please fix or replace this garbage.

A Useless Bank With A Hint Of Lies

How soon is soon??? I’ve asked years ago about a proper app and you’re still “trying” to make an app. This ISN’T an app, it’s more like a browser without the address bar. If RACQ can make one why can’t you (a new bank that has a better app than your app is quite sad)? Well anyway I’m glad I’m not banking with you anymore. I’ve had you since the 90’s and now you’re a bank I’d tell people to avoid. Also, rude Customer Support, when I couldn’t get into the app the customer support said in a rude way “I can get into my app”. Yeah well I’m not sure how she could have gotten into the app with in a second of me saying it’s not working.

Atrocious

I have never written a review before, but I feel so strongly about this app that I can’t not say something. This app is plain atrocious. I cannot believe that a bank that is trying to be competitive within industry can genuinely believe that this is a commensurate service, even amongst small banks. A brief list of issues: - Endless crashes - Non-functional text fields - The app looks straight out of an intro to Visual Basic textbook for high schoolers. I don’t doubt a high schooler could create a better app. - No account information (both BSB and Account number are never displayed together. The BSB is emailed to you and kept separately. It’s almost like BOQ is actively disincentivizing you to bank with them. - Incredibly slow processing (admittedly this is less of a problem to do with the app but more of a problem with the actual service) - Incredibly user-unfriendly menu/irrelevant content If your intention was to create an app that is less user-friendly, less functional and more of a waste of time to use than the failed IT school project I handed in in year 11, then you have achieved your goal. I don’t see BOQ succeeding in becoming a premier small banking service until they focus on fixing their online banking services. It’s 2021 - hire developers who achieve the absolute bare minimum in terms of competency and do better. First boomer rant over - I can’t believe BOQ has turned me into a Karen but look at where we are now

This app need serious development

As of late, I have found it increasingly difficult to navigate the BoQ Mobile app. The user experience is clunky as you have to select accounts/text fields more than once for it to register, that’s if the app doesn’t crash before you get to this point! I understand that comparing such an app to CBA/NAB isn’t necessary appropriate, but it is evident that BoQ aren’t interested in THE first point of contact with customers (as an app almost always is - especially in today’s digital world). It shows a serious lack of effort that the “app” is literally just a shortcut the mobile browser. This is made oh so obvious by the “please don’t navigate with your browsers back/forward buttons”. Please BoQ, I implore you step into the 21st century and spend some much needed research and development into a better experience for all of your customers.

Offensively Inadequate

You should be embarrassed. Any bank worth it’s salt knows that online banking is an essential part of handling your finances and you have made no effort whatsoever to fix yours. It baffles me how little you care! Your app is so far below any of the other banks and you do not seem to care, constantly assuring us your digital team is ‘working on it’ but not releasing anything in years. The only thing you can do in the ‘settings’ section of your app is change the font size. What era are you living in? One star is too generous I had better apps on my flip phone. Sometimes I just can’t get money into my account cause of this ridiculous app. Everyone I know is leaving your bank due to this reason including myself.

Worst Banking App EVER

Only giving this app a 1 one star rating because 0 stars was unfortunately not an option! Even when the app does decide to work and load correctly (which is rare, trust me) it’s glitchy and fails to do most of the basic tasks required from a banking app! BOQ are aware of just how bad their banking app is yet do nothing about it! I’m so jealous of my friends who are with other banks and have completely functional banking apps that actually help them manage their finances let alone just allow them to login successfully! Am I asking too much?! Apparently! This is a big reason as to why I will be switching from BOQ to another bank this year, enough is enough!!

Basics aren’t up to scratch for 2018

The BOQ mobile banking isn’t up to scratch even for basics in a competitive digital banking world. Having moved our finances over to BOQ from Bankwest earlier this year (yes Bankwest is owned by cBA I know), I was shocked at how retro BOQs app is. And even more shocked just then to see there has been no upgrades to the app for 9 months now- these should be rolled out regularly, like its competitors! Things like touch or Face ID login, use of mobile number for fast transfers, and Apple/google pay are now the norm. No where in sight for BOQ. And very annoying that you can notate transfers on their mobile platform, but not see notations if you view that transfer on desktop, (where notation is not possible). What’s going on there?!? Actually should have given this a 1 star rating...very disappointing 👎. Sort it out BOQ- this should be a priority.

Terrible App keeps crashing on need to be fixed please

This app keeps crashing on me as I am trying to do my online banking and when I sign in and try to do stuff on my account it’s takes me back to home page agin and sing same thing getting back to home page to sign in agin and have tried to update the app but still it’s not working and then sometimes get locked out so have to go in to a branch to get it fixed that’s a pain having to do that all the time and getting of it and it’s wasting my time to drive all the way to the shopping centre just for that grate bank but please this need to be fixed but also needs a big up date like Apple Pay and Touch ID or Face ID as most banks have them and it would. Be helpful to have that up date for people who would like to use them as it’s common because it’s easy having that this is something that would make me happy to see this new up date and app getting fixed because it’s making my online banking hard to do.
