When it comes to customer service, Alaska Airlines far exceeds any other airline.
Over the years when calling for assistance, a recorded message will tell you your anticipated wait time and immediately offer to call you back in the stated time frame.
Without fail, the call comes and your connected to a friendly, helpful agent who identifies themselves and provides the answers you need.
Oh how I enjoy hearing “Hi, this is Linda in Boise,….”
An immediate personal connection with someone who cares , INVALUABLE in my opinion.

Terrible application
I am not commenting on the look and feel but on the technical aspect of it.
It just doesn’t work. Tried signing up with it, even though all fields are populated it asks me to fill in all the mandatory fields.
Then tried to check in, it prompts me for covid contact tracing (yes in Nov 2024), and then it glitches out saying Something went wrong - no matter how many times I try.
Just terrible unusable app.

How can I review after 3 seconds?
I open your app and within 3 seconds I’m asked to submit a review? C’mon.

$100 excess charge
Being charged excess baggage for sporting equipment (golf clubs) with only one other checked in bag as an EMERALD one world member is a disgrace!!!!! I want my money back.
Verification doesn’t work
As a Canadian who was going to fly with Alaska the app would not verify my passport. Getting nothing but “technical issues”. Does not work and is garbage.
Abrasive Alaska air employee
And Alaska Airlines employee by the name of Ashley approached me as I was boarding the plane to fly to Fairbanks. In a confrontational way she told me that I was not going to get onto the flight with a measuring stick, called a rod in the construction industry. This survey Rod is somewhat fragile, I have carried on all of my other flights and it fits into an overhead bin. She told me that It would need to be checked as baggage. I explained that it does fit into an overhead bin and if she wanted to take responsibility for any damage that might occur to it she was welcome to check it in as baggage. I attempted to pass it to her. She was not willing to receive it. I set it down on the seat and it fell down on the seat in front of her. At that point, she proclaimed I through it at her, which was a lie. At that point, I felt like she was trying to provoke me into an argument that I was not going to entertain. Than another Alaska Airlines employee approached us and gave me a tag to put on the stick. when I approached the plane at the end of the gateway, the flight attendant that greeted me asked if she could put it in a overhead bin. I accepted her offer. The flight attendants and other Alaska Airlines staff were polite, respectful, and professional. Except Ashley, who may have been having a bad day and simply taking Out out on me, a customer. I honestly felt like she was trying to provoke me with her abrasive attitude.

Why do I have to become a registered “miles” customer to use the App at all?
And when I attempted to register/create an account, I was consistently hit with an error message, despite my having no errors? Is it only for US citizens?
