First, I'm a invoice at wine. My mother knew wine and I never took the time to learn since I would just call her up and ask her for a wine choice. Now that she is gone, I am trying learn. Being I love cooking and will never cook with a wine I won't drink, this app is helping me discover new wines, learn all about grapes; what to do and don't.

A must for any wine enthusiast
This isn't your standard wine app. It doesn't give bottle ratings and reveiws. Instead, it has tons of information on grapes, including taste, pairings, history and other essential facts. It also includes a feature to predict which styles and varietals you'll enjoy. And it all comes wrapped up an a clean, easy to use interface. This app is worth every dollar, and even more if you're learning or want to discover new wines.Show lesszwii89
Well Done - JUST ONE THING...
(To start with my "JUST ONE THING") It really annoys me that no one has noticed that the little lemon icon next to "Crisp" under the wine styles list is pixelated and needs to be corrected so that it is sharp like the rest of the icons so it looks nice on the retina display. That being said-This is a very nicely designed app. Easy on the eyes and fingers and pretty educational. My only disappointment was with the "my taste" feature. I was hoping that it would be able to give me a list of specific wines to try based on my palette. It gives you an idea of what style wines you should try, but to someone new to wines, that doesn't do much for them at all. I was expecting something more like a short list of wines to choose from based on my taste with a percentage of how well I would like them or something of that nature. Overall though I am satisfied with the app and will take it as something interesting to read. It breaks down the wine terminology quite well and makes it all easy to understand.Show lessSlayly
Very Handy
I downloaded this as I was looking for a good app to help me learn more about wine for my job and for myself too.
I have to say it is really superb. It's very easy to navigate and although there are one or two things I'd change, it's the best wine app I've seen.
I'm a Scot living in Australia and I'm asked everyday to recommend wines to go with food etc, this has a great section on that!
I made one wee suggestion to the makers of the app and they got back to me very quickly and were helpful, you can't ask more than that!Show lessDoobington
A good one
This is a very good wine app and the first I've seen that actually makes sense of wine. I've found it really useful and wouldn't be without it. If you're into wine its one to have.DYD33
This app really is a must
It only took me 5 minutes to decide to rate this app at 5 stars at this price. The approach and organization are spot on. I maintain a modest 60 bottle "cellar" in my 2 dual zone fridges and find the inventory apps more trouble than they are worth (end up cracking open a new wine before adding it to cellar). And I find I don't give a flip for the opinion of the others in the app community about a particular wine. You buy it, you drink it, you like it or not, and you buy it again or not. It's that simple. This app shows you other varietals to try depending on your general preference for wine. This app is the deal...an exploration tool...what really matters.Show lessFurthest Left
Great work of synthesis
I use this App almost every time I open a new bottle. I find in there a vast amount of information that supplement my wine tasting. Very thorough and great work of synthesis for wine tasters.D_Bouch
Great App
A great app to increase your knowledge of wine.
Not completely comprehensive. I noticed certain areas missing which are currently rising in status in the wine world; I contacted the developers who replied that their next update would hopefully cover these areas. Simply the best
Used a lot of wine apps as I work in the restaurant industry. This is by far the best both on iPad and iPhone. I'm sure more grape varieties and more features will be added to make this app even better than it already is!Jonooooooo
