  • Good app

Creating a notation app that's actually useable on an iphone is no small feat. You'll notice that there are not iOS versions of Sibelius or Finale. There is a reason for that!

I purchased iWriteMusic back in 2013, but it was a while before I began to use it regularly. There was a bit of a learning curve, which in my case, was just a matter of tinkering about until I figured it, out as opposed to watching the tutorial videos or anything like that. The app makes good sense once you get used to it. It's fantastic to be able to jot down ideas – in polyphony - then export them as midi files.

This is an app that is regularly tweaked and updated for the better by its developer. They took on a very difficult task in making a workable notation app and in my opinion, have pretty much knocked it out of the park.

    Five stars.

  • Not as advertised

There is no percussion or drum-kit stave provided...
  • Pls

How can I transfer my files from free to the paid app I bought?
  • Good Job

This is a great tool for quickly jotting ideas. Retrieving pieces is a bit of a problem. But they have improved the ease of notation layering, and part manipulation. This is a strong app. Information retrieval could be made easier.
  • Cool but..

I wish there were a way to add double beat notes for percussion. I couldn't find it under any of the commands in the app. Other than that everything else is great. I recommend this app to all music lovers composers on the go. I hope to see new features in later updates.
  • Awesome

I love this app, but I wish one of the instruments can be a ukulele. And it would be great if there was a electric bass sound and another thing that would be great is if there was a electric guitar sound. Everything else is good.
  • The notes are a whole step sharp.

When the app plays back the sound of the note I put into the staff, the pitch that the app plays is a whole step sharper than what the actual pitch of the note is. Please fix this, other than that I love this app.
  • Disappointed no more!

I have to say that the app is working very well and I'm able to hear the music I've created. Excellent!
  • Why does it keep crashing

I used to love this app but as of recent, it seems I can't spend more than 2 minutes in a piece without the app crashing. Please fix this. It's very frustrating.
  • Great app!

I love this app it's perfect. Only thing is it crashes when I view the whole score. Also I wish it would zoom out a little while working on it.
