  • Rough start

I guess I just have to say make sure you down load the right Weber app for your Bluetooth and make sure you replace the battery’s. After that this thing is an absolute champ I choose the cut of meat or set the temp and walk away. Most Bluetooth enabled devices can make your life challenging but this one is super easy once set up. Weber I recommend putting QRC codes linked to set up and trouble shooting video super inexpensive and can get the user rolling faster.

  • Disconnecting disappointment

I purchased a new Weber Grill and the Igrill 3 came with the grill. I thought it would be great to have all the probes. The first hour was great and everything worked well. After that it started disconnecting about every 5 to 10 minutes. I tried to submit a ticket and it did not work. I took out my old temp probe and it worked fine. I again tried to use the igrill 3 and for about the first hour it worked then it started disconnecting every 5 to 10 minutes. I have done every trouble shooting suggested even reloading the app. It is not good and I would not buy one again. You should not get frustrated by a temp probe when cooking but that is all this thing has to offer. Support is not very good.

  • Almost excellent

Great app and great product except the app has a stupid, pointless limitation. Yes, I know that tracking the temperature fall in your new fridge is not in the intended design but there’s no reason to block that use. (Whirlp00l got cheap and left out the current temp on our $2000 unit.)

The app reads out the temp perfectly but will not let you set an alert when it reaches a lower temp. It only goes down to 50F which is super arbitrary.

  • Own two minis, for years. Can not recommend to anyone

After suffering relearning after multiple software updates, my iGrill minis stopped providing alerts when target temp was reached. We’ve experienced overcooked meat multiple times. It became necessary to diligently watch the app to see when target was reached. I can do that with a manual thermometer. Delete, reinstall app and alert came back. For fun, it still intermittently forgets to send alerts. Then the battery kept going dead. They will not shut off, you must remove the battery. The latest version required deletion of the old app to get. It now requires a temperature range be set, with an annoying alarm to alert you it’s too cold before reaching the lower of the set range. How is that helpful? Now the phone battery management shows IGrill running in background for 21 hours, sucking the phone battery dry. I’m contacting support (again). How can I possibly recommend this to anyone?

  • I grill 5 nights a week and I love this unit!

I’m not sure why the Weber iGrill devices get such bad reviews. I use this device at least 5 nights a week and it works perfect every time. The reviews I read made me leery about the performance of this unit but I have not found any faults. Connection is flawless with my iPhone, battery life is great, the app interface is top notch. I am a big fan of the notifications it sends you when your food is nearing the desired temperature. I would most definitely purchase this again and I would recommend to anyone. Buy it!

  • Useful but buggy

Past igrill sessions show the temperature chart using current time stamp instead of when the session actually occurred, so they are obviously all blank having occurred in the past. Doesn’t seem to be a way to scroll through time either so you can’t see any of your session graphs, kind of makes all history useless.

Feedback tool in-app was also broken.

Basic functionality did work well for my smoke over the weekend, 15hrs of great monitoring and charts and alerts...but it continues to be full of bugs.

  • Great Product, App Needs Bug Fox

I LOVE the iGrill2 that I have! It’s really easy to use and I have bought many of these as gifts to give because I think it is so awesome. I love the app to as it is really straightforward and easy to use.

Why 4 stars not 5? Since the recent update of the app, I am having trouble setting a grill temperature timer/alert. There is a dial that used to be easy to turn in order to make the target temperature higher or lower but now I can’t turn it more that a few degrees each way. It seems the problem is that the whole screen moves with my finger (like I am scrolling) instead of just the dial moving. Maybe it is just me but I never had any problems with this before the app updated on my phone.

5 out of 5 for the product and app when this problem is fixed.

Thank you for bringing to this to our attention and for being a fan of the app! We apologize for the inconvenience. As of this morning, we have released an app update that addresses this issue, so please ensure you have updated the app to the latest version. Thank you for your patience!
  • Turn it off

I am happy the way it works, I am not happy about the way it doesn’t work. (I depleted two batteries in the sending unit before I figured out how to turn it off when finished. (Hold down the button until the white light comes on)
I also wondered why my cell phone battery was running down so quickly. I entered my settings app into “battery “ and found the iGrill was running in background accounting for 27% of the phone’s activity. Finally in the app under “temperature” I was able to disconnect devices.
Further, I like to roast a pork tenderloin on the upper rack. My wife insists it must be well done. However, the setting for pork tenderloin in the app only allows up to medium well. It’s no problem letting it run over but the intermittent alarm is annoying. I wish there was an override or a setting adjustment. I am sure there are similar situations for other cuts of meat. Just saying.

Thank you for your review, Bob! We appreciate your feedback. If you'd like to cook your pork tenderloin to a different temperature than we suggest, you can create your. own custom preset. To do this, open the app, tap on Start Grilling, tap on Food Temperature, then tap on Temperature. Using the temperature dial select your desired target temperature, tap on the black star icon, name your preset, and you should be good to go! If you have any questions about the process, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@weberstephen.com.
  • Dark Mode support needed

Update: come on people! iOS 13 has been out for 5 months now. The widget is making my eyes bleed!

I was previously critical of the app redesign after Weber took over due to the omission of an option to set a temperature range for monitoring the grill temp. That has long since been rectified and overall the UI redesign is simply outstanding.

My only beef with the current state is the lack of support for Dark Mode in iOS 13. I realize it’s early since it’s only been public for a couple weeks, but the widget sticks out like a sore thumb now in my Notification Center.

As a product, the iGrill has fallen out of favor with me for relying on Bluetooth. I still use it in occasion but I now much prefer an alternative that not only runs over WiFi but also controls the grill temp for me, not just monitor it. Maybe the next version of iGrill hardware will be a more complete kit if we’re lucky.

  • Absolutely stupid broken notifications

I would love to say this device and app is great, and it could be, if it weren’t for what happens if you get multiple problems at or near the target temperature at the same time. Normally, if a probe is at or near temperature, it will pop up a notification from the bottom of the screen, with a dismiss button on it. Unfortunately, if a second probe is at or near temperature at the same time, it will pop up in front of the original notification, but only pop halfway up, seemingly so you can see the notification behind it. In doing so, the dismiss button for the first notification is covered by the second notification, and the dismiss button for the second notification is off screen. You can now no longer dismiss either notification, or navigate anywhere else in the app. If you close and re-open the app, the notifications immediately pop up, causing the same failure immediately again.
