Reviews of NissanConnect® EV & Services

  • Not reliable

The ability of the app to connect to my car is always a hit or miss. Therefore, it is without a high probability that you can change anything on your car. The notification that I failed to set a setting in my car again only happens in frequently. The HVAC only runs for 15 minutes when you turn it on remotely.

There is no way to control the amount of charging of the battery to 80%, which is what Nissan recommends. To set a charging timer, you have to do that from inside the car and cannot do it with this app. The app only let you start charging.

Compared to the fast connection to my Tesla and ability to control various settings, This app needs significant improvements.
  • Great car. Terrible app.

One might think that an app dedicated to the charging features of an ev would have easily available features like setting a timer or allowing charging to stop at a certain point or even just manually stopping charging. One would be wrong.
If these features exist, they are somewhere deeply hidden in the app where I can’t find them after an hour plus of searching. I might just be bad at finding things, because the Nissan website says about the timer:“This feature is operated via the NissanConnect EV & Services app.”
Unfortunately the “instructions” stop there, and that feature is not in any obvious spot.
Fortunately I can remotely lock and unlock my doors, control the temperature, and maybe do some other things I have no intention to attempt.
    What a poorly created app.
  • Don’t like using the app

This app has been having connection problems lately. It wouldn’t even work last night when I got home from around 8:30pm. It had an error message pop stating “Unable to reach vehicle, make sure I am in a good cellular reception area & try again. If problem continues call a certain phone number”
I don’t like that when I plug in my car I have to open up the app in order to start the charging process. It takes longer than just simply plugging it in and it starts immediately.
The only positive thing I like of the app is seeing the charging status and when it is finished.
