Accordance Bible software is a great tool for those who want to go deeper in their study and understanding of the Bible. The library of available resources that can be purchased through their site is incredibly vast. This app makes a very handy companion to the software. Not a Fan of App
First -- I'm not particularly happy that I'm basically forced into writing a review. The "Give Us a 5-Star Review" notification pops up every time I open the app. The only options are to either write a review or press the "maybe later" button. Turns out, the "maybe later" is every time I open the app. Not cool.
Second -- I would give this app 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that it locks up on the loading screen far too frequently (actually, even once would be too many times). I'm forced to delete the app, re-download it, and then pick through the many books, commentaries, etc. to download as well. I have found that the fewer items I select, the better chance I have of not needing to repeat the whole process. This is very frustrating, since I have purchased many, many resources over the years. Even when I download only a few items, the app may work well for a couple of weeks but then lock up again (without adding other items). Again, this is extremely frustrating -- especially in light of how much money I've paid over the years.Show lessTheophilus7777

Theophilus7777, thank you for taking the time to write a review. First, I would like to encourage you to update to 2.6.2. The 'forced review' was actually a bug that was missed in testing, that we fixed as soon as possible. Second, we've fixed a few bugs related to lockup in the loading screen, so these may be fixed with the update. If they aren't, but you experience a lockup, go to your Device Settings app -> Accordance -> Remove Saved Session, to clear it up. This saves you from having to reinstall the app! My paper Bible hasn’t been opened in years because accordance Bible app is so amazingly effective and efficient in helping me to find what I am looking for in the word. I can search easily between the original languages and multiple translations and other resources to gain better understanding of the text very easily. Not to mention all the extras that can be added to this app such as maps and Commentaries and almost all scholarly biblical resources.Show lessKit Kro
Quick, easy and useful!
Accordance IOS provides me with exactly what I need as a pastoral resource for English, Greek and Hebrew. It allows me to do a little translating every day without a shelf full of concordances. It also allows me to cross reference, and perform searches in either language, all on my phone or IPad. I've used it every day for years. Fantastic App for Bible Reading and Study
I love this app for Bible study! It really shines on mobile devices because it is both powerful and fast (and I have used other expensive Bible apps as well). I have used it on about seven devices over the past several years, and I’ve never had a problem with it. The interface is beautiful, and easily customizable. You can change the fonts and font sizes and backgrounds quickly and easily. You can include additional resources into a panel quickly and navigate efficiently. The app is rock solid and a joy to use. Not impressed
First let me say I download a free app from GTY and I get KJV, ESV, and NKJV for free. Go look at all the free or very inexpensive bible study tools you can download. I understand there is a premium price to pay and I am not coming months maiming about that but I expect a little bit better description and maybe a tour of your product if I am going to shell out from 99 to 300 bucks for a few more resources. Woo me a little bit more. I know you got your fans but please put a little more effort into it...this is not for your fans. At this point this is less about religion and more about investing and straight up businesses transactions. This is why I give it a one star. I know nothing about this app except I get the ESV which I can get for free just about anywhere else. So what does Accordance do for me? Heard a lot of good things about it from James White but I need a little bit more than this. Wet my appetite. I’ve been using Accordance for years. I recently upgraded to the iPhone X with iOS 11. Since then, it won’t move past the loading screen. I’ve tried everything recommended in the developer response to the previous review (remove saved session, clear cache, reinstall from App Store, etc.). I really think it has to do with the latest iOS version breaking something in the app.Show lessMarble player
Having to Reinstall for 5th Time
I've been using Accordance for close to 10 years. I started using it on almost a daily basis when they released the iOS app, and I was very pleased with its performance up until a couple months ago.
One day, the app got stuck on the loading screen. I tried closing the app and re-opening it, but that didn't work. I tried restarting my device, but that didn't work either. So, I deleted the app, then reinstalled it. This solved the problem initially, but maybe a week later, the same thing happened. Again, I deleted, reinstalled, then it crashed again. I'm now having to repeat this for the 5th time.
Getting stuck on the loading screen isn't the only problem I've had with it. Sometimes I'll choose a book and chapter, but when I click the verse it crashes, and it won't stop doing this until I delete and reinstall.
Edit: Now having to reinstall for the 7th time. Ready to switch to Logos. If only I could get my money back for all the modules I’ve purchased over the years. I’m not at all happy about having to start from scratch on Logos, but this is just ridiculous.Show lessLbself
