Pricey

Was happy to pay 10-15$ per year for cross platform syncing and stuff. New pricing of 50$ per year is way too much for podcast and I am leaving.
Experience with app was otherwise great.

Thanks for letting us know! If you were an existing subscribe and have not cancelled your subscription you should see the prior subscriber price. Starting to Slip

I was a dedicated PocketCasts fan for about a decade. Unfortunately now it’s giving me issues with custom a Patreon feed and it’s missing some functionality that I would like to have. It’s still good just not necessarily the best like it used to be.

We'd be happy to help troubleshoot this with you! You can reach out to us through the app by navigating to Profile > Settings > Help & Feedback > Get in touch.

Brilliant

This app is so good, it is a real pleasure to use. It is one of the most user friendly apps I’ve come across and has so many useful features. It is especially good for the purpose I’m using it for mainly, which is language learning. The app helps me to stay organised, even whilst using the free version, which is plenty good enough for regular everyday use.

The app has many features and is fully customisable, yet so straight forward to use. I feel so much more motivated to listen to podcasts on this app, than I was when using another well known podcast app, previously. I highly recommend trying this app, you will not be disappointed! A++++++

Episodes don’t auto-play

This podcast app is nearly perfect, but it’s missing one painfully obvious feature that’s holding it back significantly: namely, that episodes do not auto-play when you’ve finished an episode from a podcast’s channel page. It seems like it will auto-play if you’re listening from the Up Next playlist, but I would way rather they just automatically play the next chronological episode regardless of where you’re listening to them, which is how virtually every other podcast app works.

When I brought this up with the support AI, it told me to go to settings, and then choose the playback option. When I told the support AI the option wasn’t there, it had me do some troubleshooting, only for it to still not show up. Upon checking the forums, it turns out the playback option doesn’t even exist at all, and there is no way to change this setting.

It’s frustrating, because this app is otherwise extremely good and clean, but without being able to have episodes auto-play the next one from the podcast’s channel page, I’m not sure I’ll be able to use it very much. If this is changed, I’ll come back and change my rating to five stars. Until then, I feel like I’m being very generous with three.

Hi there! Sorry for the confusion caused. We just launched a 'Auto-Play' feature so our chatbot was likely referring to that. To get access to this new feature, you would need the latest version of Pocket Casts, then go to Settings > General > Auto-Play. I hope that this helps 👍

Why the antisocial bright style?

The new colours of this app are too feminine tbh; can’t have flowers all over body, it’s just not me. Gonna have to use your competition

Love the app! All except for the new icon

My favourite podcasting app. My only beef is with your new app icon. It is not an improvement. Crisp and pretty before! Now an ugly melange of colours that looks muddy and unappealing. Bring back the old coral one. Perfection! 😊

With respect, don’t force Pride month on me

I’ve used Pocket Cast for years. Probably since around 2016 or so. Today I updated the app and noticed that they changed the icon to rainbow colors to celebrate pride month. I have homosexual family and friends in my life whom I could not love more, but as I’ve explained to them in many charitable and mutually respectful discussions over the years, I do not like pride month being forced down my throat. FWIW I’m Catholic and do not expect there to be a “Catholic month” pushed down others throats, either.

It would be so wonderful if businesses, sports teams, etc could just focus on what they do best and let their customers decide if, when, and how they’d like to celebrate a particular “festivity”. I noticed that Pocket Casts did not change their icon to celebrate Black History month, St. Patrick’s Day, or Christmas, so I can only deduct that this is just more woke garbage being forced down my throat. The good news is that there are dozens of excellent podcast app alternatives available, which I plan to explore once I conclude this review and delete Pocket Casts from my phone. So long and thank you for the memories.

Enough already

Pocket Cast has been my go-to podcast app for quite some time but have just removed the app from all devices. . So tired of all this Rainbow Mafia nonsense.

Icon

Why are jamming your icon down people’s throats?

Best Podcasts app by FAR!!

I have been using Pocket Casts for years as my main podcast app. I constantly also explore the other top 3-5 podcast apps, but none of them are even close to Pocket Casts. Pocket Casts ability to easily manage a large number of podcasts, archive episodes you don’t want to listen to, inclusion of an actual listening queue, ability to sync subscriptions, queue and now playing location seamlessly across devices and platforms (iPhone, iPad, desktop App, web, etc.) is awesome. No other podcast app has these features implemented as broadly and cleanly as Pocket Casts. Only feature I wish it had is the ability to see first 3-4 lines of podcast episode description inside filter lists - this would be incredibly helpful for triaging large number of podcasts. Thanks Pocket Casts team - awesome app!!!
