  • Battery drain

Animated ads within app drain the battery quite quickly. You may want to fix that. Otherwise, app is easy to navigate and contains good content.
  • Great Perspectives

I look forward to non-USA news from Canada. Love the regional perspectives of cities. Great app to navigate.
  • Can’t livestream anymore.

Keep getting box that says “Sorry this content is not available right now”. Perhaps it’s a location issue as I am not in Canada. I was able to livestream local news all through 2020 and 2021.

    Developer Response

Unfortunately, during the duration of the Beijing Winter Olympics, The National and local News broadcasts are geofenced outside Canada, due to coverage of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Online access will return after the close of the Olympics.
  • Zooming picture when scrolling is awful

Please get rid of it. Will have to go elsewhere if not removed.
  • Propaganda

I browsed the app out of curiosity. Wow. Talk about an agenda.
  • Good but video issues

The app is good. No real complaints as far as reading text and navigation are concerned. But I’m having issues with videos included with some stories. It makes you watch ads—annoying but nowadays expected—but then the second ad freezes. There isn’t a way to restart it or skip it. So the intended video never plays.

  • AppleTV app seriously broken

I’ve used this app regularly for a few years, but in the last couple of months it has taken a nosedive on reliability. Problems include being unable to exit a video once it starts and crashes after videos complete and should transition to the next in the queue.

I hope someone at CBC is working to address these concerns because it was a great source of Canadian news content.

  • Ads in app stop system audio

Want to listen to music while reading CBC news? Well you can’t. Every time you scroll to an ad the app overtakes audio and your music stops playing.
  • Palestine

When you censor anything related to the Palestinian plight to a point where you tell your journalist not to even use the word “Palestine” you are complicit to the genocide committed to the Palestinians.
  • No one care

I’ve been trying to reach you guys and sending messages and called but nobody respond .news about everything about everybody famous but news about somebody like me no one care
