  • A classic worth playing

Most older games don’t hold up well, especially some shooters, but this one still feels great. Weapons in this game are satisfying, especially the duel pistols and later duel shotguns in the sequel. It honestly feels like a game that was made at a time when technology wasn’t good enough to tell its story, that still holds up amazingly well. It has levels that always have a fun gimmick of some kind to it’s layout that keeps things fun and interactive. The amazing story stays interesting throughout and keeps the engagement high throughout, and despite having mostly text based story, you can still feel the tension. All enemy designs are unique and well explored and the alien weapon is fun to use. every enemy is well distinguished over what class it is, what attacks it uses, and what rank it is. And for a game this old, I still love it’s soundtrack and shares a similar feeling to the early’s halo’s soundtrack. Overall a game [and series] worth playing.

Thanks for the mini review - It’s amazing to think this game is over a quarter century old, and people are still loving it!
  • Much nostalgia. Such fun. Wow!

The developer is doing an amazing job maintaining his port. The iOS version has been around pfhor a loooong time.

Only missing now is a tvOS version so I can play this on the big screen with a controller.
  • Awesome game no matter the platform

Nice to find this on iPhone. I’ve played the trilogy so many times over the years. Since the Apple days. It still has a charm that no other FPS has ever really been able to replicate. My daughter was watching me play and she was really into it.

The only negative is it doesn’t support PS4 controller support. That’s been a real game changer since Apple implemented it.

Still, everyone should play this series at least once in their lives.

Since iOS 13, the game will support PS4 and Xbox One controllers. When a controller is paired, the on-screen controls will not be visible. If you are having trouble getting it to work, send a message to our support email address and we can figure it out!
  • Fix this glitch

There is a glitch on never burn money where the switch you need to activate at the end of the level does nothing and you cannot get the third chip. This is really frustrating because I was really enjoying the game up until this point now I am stuck with a broken switch and no chip.
  • Best 90s fps I've played on my iPad

I will say this game is really good it's very very similar to doom but different and more difficult and more fun. And also Happy Birthday Marathon that started halo and every other game made by Bungie you will be a revolutionary piece in the history of games. If you want a pc fps game on your phone and iPad this is the one to pick up. Farewell marathon you will be in my heart.

  • Loving it

So nice to see my old favorite (and it’s sequels) brought to the iPad. When Apple decided to allow pairing with an xbox controller, I was excited to try it with Marathon. The game plays great with a controller with one exception. Unfortunately I can not play a game without the y-axis inverted (too much muscle memory from old flight sims and RC I guess). Anyhow - the only change I would like to see to the game(s) is to allow inverting the y axis. Otherwise, 5 starts for sure.

You can invert the Y-axis input under the app settings. Be sure to check out the Help screen to see what other control and customization options are available. Enjoy the game!
  • Thank you!

Thank you so much for reading my review! It’s hard to find a developer who does read reviews. This series is awesome, and I’ve recommended it to all my friends. There are only two things I would change. One, like this game, both Marathon Durandal and Marathon Infinity do not deserve a 17+ age rating. I would recommend changing those to 12+ like this one, as more people would have access to play them. The other thing would be an invisible joystick of sorts. The joystick is a little twitch on these games, though it isn’t AT ALL overbearing. Thanks for reading and I hope you consider my suggestions!

Great catch! You are the first person to spot that mistake. Version 4.7 changes the rating to 12+.
  • Terrific classic, wonderfully ported

Love having this game in my pocket. Many thanks to the developer that made it free and added controller support. Everything runs flawlessly with an Xbox one controller and I couldn’t be happier! Frog blast the vent core
  • Thank you!

I was not expecting support for iOS 12!
  • Game unplayable because of bad controls

I love the Marathon games, and I so badly want to play through these games on my iPad, but the controls render this game unplayable. The idea of tapping above and below a moving bar to alternate firing modes may have seemed like a good idea, but in practice it kills me more than the enemies. Because the bar moves with your fingers I often end up firing when I don't want to, and can't control when the grenades fire from the assault rifle.

The best way to solve this would be to have an on screen toggle for firing modes. Also instead of a single tap it might be better to have a double tap to shoot to stop accidentally firing.

Another nice thing would be to allow us to change the positions of the on screen triggers.

Please fix this so I can play my favorite games.
