Pretty close to being useless
This app is fundamentally broken.
The reason for this is the lack of ability to enter things like the rate of tax, and to specify different rates of return for different asset types.
Which renders the thing pointless, because to get anything close to a meaningful result, you have to go work a bunch of things out in a spreadsheet. And if you do that, then this app offers you nothing, as you can quite quickly build a model in Numbers or Excel in, maybe, fifteen minutes.
And most importantly, that model will be far more accurate than this app offers.
I'm guessing that the developer has gone for simplicity over accuracy, but the net result is an app that gives very misleading results.

Many features that other apps lack
I like that you can put in market crashes at any time and also add in things like pension income, windfalls etc. Well worth the money and I use it frequently in conjunction with other apps and online tools. My advice is take the time to click all the options and check things out.Purr4Catnip

I hope you are going to continue this app! It is highly helpful being able to see how much income can be removed when you are retired, and how long and how well you can make your money last.

The best out there
This really is the best retirement app out there, hands down. Lots of options and configurations. Multiple scenarios, etc. Solid piece of work here.
My only complaint is: you can’t see your rate of withdraw. Unless I’m missing it? Or maybe after setting your income slider, it would be helpful if it could show what your rate of withdraw is?Show lessManchovy
Best Retirement Planner
Easy to use and allows you to plan for recurring income (pensions/Social Security/etc.), expected/estimated investment contributions and performance, retirement timing, and one time expense planning. Great to have the ability to export to excel for further assessment of the data. Love this app. All other apps that I have tied want information i don’t want them have and/or try to sell you services. Just enter you information, analysis the results (charts easy to use and understand), make the appropriate adjusts to your desired results, and then go make it happen.Show lessPlanAndMakeItHappen

I recommend RetirePlan to everyone, even those with a solid budget (YNAB) and plan for retirement.
I especially like the "Market Crash" scenario. Anyone not preparing for a significant market correction is just fooling themselves.hmspain
Nice, Simple App
Read some of the reviews and felt compelled to add my own.
Firstly, you should ignore most of the reviews that are years old, as they include complaints that have long since been addressed. More recent complaints seem to be the app lacking the ability to address RMD’s or different retirement dates for spouses. This appears to be true, however, I would counter that this is well beyond the intended scope of this app. This is a great tool for simple “what if’s?” to assess the feasibility of various saving or spending scenarios. Simply put, it can get you in the ballpark.
Expecting a $5 iPad app to calculate a comprehensive retirement plan is simply unreasonable - the real world is far too complex.
If you want to have some fun and noodle around with savings levels, retirement dates and the like, have at it, you won’t be disappointed. I have been using it for years in this way. Poke around the drop down list when you select “+” and you be able to concoct some workarounds to help with your specific situation.Show lessb'way=love
Great app
I use an investment house with their own proprietary retirement software, but I like having the option to play with my own scenarios. When I use the same info as supplied to my investment folks, this app gets the same results as theirs. Two thumbs up!Pinkvespagal
