Simple but Powerful
This app is one of the best kept secrets on the Internet for retirement planning. I have used retirement planners paid and unpaid versions at major brokerage firm sites and this is by far the best. There is no requirement to share account information. The beauty of this app is it’s simplicity. Promising but developer appears to have disappeared.
I really wanted to love this app but I noticed a few strange things, like the rate of investment returns seems to only affect your 401k and IRA but not stock investments... huh??? But the developer site is gone and the support address is dead as well. That does not inspire confidence.Bmachine2
Best retirement planning app in the store
First, RetirePlan is the best planning app I have found, anywhere. It correlates well with professional services such as Schwab and A G Edwards. Being able to run multiple scenarios and compare them is very helpful. Lots of input options can cover almost any circumstance you might have. Easy to use and modify. Best of all when I ran into some questions RetirePlan responded the next day with an thorough explanation. You will not be disappointed, unless you have not been saving as needed.Show lessTIGtoday
Nice tool but lacking a couple important features
Nice tool. Great visualization and lots of ways to adjust but what about things like:
- Spouses retire at different ages
- Survivor benefit for pension

Great app
One of the best retirement planning tools I’ve ever used. Allows a person to quickly look at their long term financial retirement strategy and life events. It tracks very close to my much more complex spreadsheet that I used to test out this app. Well done to the developer!JX60
Like an iceberg
What you see, the output, is only the tip. The real work is underneath and depends on realistic inputs. Before I found this app, I created my own complex spreadsheet with extensive inputs in many tabs for income and expenses with expectations, such as travel, for my remaining retirement years. My spreadsheet contained random numbers for items like stock market behavior and interest rates whereas this app has sliders that function similarly. Simple to use, very insightful
I bought this several years ago and found it incredibly helpful. Over time, I built more accurate cost and income scenarios that allowed me to better understand how decisions today will impact disposable income in the future.
