  • Decent, minus the constant time outs

This app is a good way to let out what’s on your mind and get some advice from others without them knowing you. And that’s it.

Due to the fact this app constantly says the request is timed out you’ll be lucky to actually have access to the app! Seriously! It never works except at one specific time of day for about five minutes and it varies!! This app needs some serious TLC done to it before it will actually be decent and worth installing. I keep it installed for hope, but I use tumblr so much as a replacement, you’re better off just going there! At least the app responds!

  • Best help app I have ever found!!!

This was so helpful. It was nice talking to people that are going through the same thing. Also I could ask anything and not feel embarrassed and everyone is positive. Love it
  • I can’t even explain how grateful I am.

I got this app today. And I already feel so happy and I’m just filled with joy. The people on this app are only trying to make friends, make people feel better and better their own lives. There’s nothing that makes you angry about the app and it’s amazing. You usually get responses almost right away and trust me, you’ll be smiling in seconds.

  • Actually negative and very unsupportive of mental health

Despite giving the option for users to identify particular subjects that trigger them, the app theoretically encourages honesty. However, when sharing feelings my post was immediately removed for being triggering despite having a function to hide that for users who don’t want to see it.
They did not respond to me when I responded to their removal. Other users agree it was wrong of them. They have actively made me feel worse when I was looking to them for support.

    Avoid at all costs.

  • Pretty good

Of course there are some toxic people on it as there are everywhere on the internet, but people genuinely do want to listen and give advice. The direct messaging system is still broken af though.
  • Awesome App!

I have been depressed for quite a while but this app helped me so much. I was able to say the things I was feeling and I was able to share things I wouldn’t share with others. The love and support that you get from other people is awesome and I couldn’t ask for a better app like this one. I would strongly recommend it if you are going through a lot in your life right now.

  • Good idea. Bad execution.

Originally I liked this app, until I started using it more often.

The community is filled with toxic behaviour, trolls that never get dealt with meanwhile, you can get suspended/banned for simply asking people to talk as its assumed that you are ‘asking for a boyfriend or girlfriend’. Their customer service is completely unresponsive. The app is very buggy, the chat function is completely useless, it’s also really difficult to navigate sometimes. Since there’s so many people on it, when you post something it’s unlikely to be seen unless you ‘boost’ it - which you can only do limited times.

In short, regulate posts so their easier to see, improve the user interface, ban/suspend the right people and improve the chat function.

Overall, I think Talklife didn’t improve my my mental health at all, it only stressed me out.

  • Angry and Disappointed

What the heck. This app has given me a place to go and be supported because literally no one close to me struggles with what I do. I have multiple chronic illnesses that lead to 3am bathroom breakdowns because I can’t move off the floor because of how dizzy and nauseous I am. This app has given me a place to vent about when that’s happening to try and distract myself and get some support and non-harmful release at 3am when all my friends are sleeping. This app has saved my life on multiple occasions and multiple users have talked me out of s*lf h*rm*ng because of how upset I get about not being able to find any acting jobs near me. If you had to change the minimum age to work with Europe’s new laws, that’s understandable. But instead of deleting and restricting hundreds of thousands of people from sometimes their ONLY support mechanism, maybe you should’ve adding a feature to ask if TalkLife can access your location in order to make sure you’re above minimum age for those country’s laws. Now you’ve taken away pretty much my only dang support system because you had to change your WHOLE policy for EVERYONE.

  • I lalalalaaaalove this app.

I love this app!!! It’s awesome to help others and be able to see where you are and be grateful. It also is beautiful to receive help as well. Love the way it was created keeping people anonymous and encouraging users to engage in a certain level of activity before actually being able to message. You get a feel for who you’re dealing with. 😝 love it. It’s safe and drama free!!!

  • Encouraging

I find it surprisingly helpful and encouraging. I have not come across any demeaning or hurtful comments and have instead found love and support from random areas of the cyber world. I would have loved it more if it had enabled the messaging feature right from the beginning.
